In a special SNL crossover episode with host Jack Black, Jack White did his part as musical guest by delivering a pair of kick-ass performances. He also appeared in two sketches alongside Black, including the opening monologue, during which the two performed a revamped version of “Seven Nation Army.”
For his two performances, White showcased his new singles, “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs,” both of which were released Friday. He was backed on SNL by drummer Patrick Keeler, bassist Dominic Davis, and keyboardist Bobby Emmett.
This weekend’s SNL appearance marked White’s fifth solo turn and sixth time as musical guest overall. He’ll stick in New York City through Tuesday when he’s due to appear as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
