fakemink Surprise Drops Track From Coachella

Last Friday, fakemink took to Coachella’s Gobi Stage for his anticipated US festival debut. As he gears up for his Weekend 2 performance in just a few hours, mink has shared a new studio single to streaming services, entitled “Night, Blooming Jasmine.” – which happens to be one of the unreleased tracks he included in his setlist last week.

Defined by its contagious chorus – “Ayy, night, bloom Jasmine, second name Yasmin / Th-they wanna eat me alive, can’t stop them / Killing Charles Manson, ringing for ransom / Th-they tryna cut my hair, I’m Samson” – the track is a typical mink offering, complete with blown-out production, backing synths, and his higher-pitched vocals.

In his Weekend One set, the track landed in between “Young Millionaire” and “LV Sandals.” A Cindy Lauper sample (“Time After Time”) preceded “Night, Blooming Jasmine.”‘s debut, the classic tu slowly fading into the new mink one.

He opened the set with “Easter Pink” before going into “Look at Me,” “MAKKA,” “Fidelio,” “Kill Everything,” and “Music and Me.” Just ahead of its official video premiere, “Blow the Speaker” signalled the closing track.

Presumably, “Night, Blooming Jasmine,” will appear on The Boy Who Cried Terrified‘s tracklist, but there hasn’t been official word on that quite yet. Similarly, there is still no official release date for the album.

In the interim, stream “Night, Blooming Jasmine.” out everywhere now, and stay tuned for more updates on The Boy Who Cried Terrified’s release.
