Tom Morello's Power to the People Festival Is a Rock Super Lineup With a Mission

Tom Morello will gather some of rock music’s biggest names for the Power to the People Festival, a one-day “non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action” taking place Saturday, October 3rd at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

The lineup promises “intimate, collaborative and special performances by Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Jack Black, Dave Matthews, Dropkick Murphys, Joan Baez, Cypress Hill, Serj Tankian, Brittany Howard, Killer Mike, Taylor Momsen, The Linda Lindas, Matt Cameron, Daryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Morello himself. (Compare this to what Trump put together for his Freedom 250 bash on the National Mall.)

“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll,” says Morello in a statement. “It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”
