The game is afoot. Netflix has dropped the first details and a thrilling new trailer for Enola Holmes 3, confirming the highly anticipated return of Millie Bobby Brown as the titular, fourth-wall-breaking sleuth. Stepping away from the foggy streets of London, the upcoming threequel promises the biggest, most grown-up adventure of the franchise yet, delivering a perfect mix of high-stakes danger, family drama, and romance.
he official logline teases that adventure chases Enola all the way to the sun-soaked island of Malta, where her personal and professional dreams violently collide. The recently released trailer opens with a massive bombshell for fans: Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) drops to one knee and proposes, and Enola happily accepts. However, the romantic bliss is short-lived. The young detective is quickly thrust into a massive mystery when she discovers her legendary older brother, Sherlock Holmes—played once again by Henry Cavill—has been kidnapped.
To rescue him, Enola must step up and prove herself in an entirely new, dangerous environment. Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, Brown reflected on her character’s growth in this new chapter. “What I love about this chapter is that Enola is stepping into a version of herself that feels much more defined but still evolving,” the actress shared. “She’s built something for herself, which is amazing, but she’s also questioning what she wants next.”
Behind the camera, the franchise welcomes a fresh perspective. Philip Barantini takes over directorial duties from Harry Bradbeer, steering a script based on Nancy Springer’s beloved book series. Alongside Brown, Cavill, and Partridge, the film will feature a stellar ensemble of familiar faces, including Helena Bonham Carter as the eccentric Eudoria Holmes, Himesh Patel as Dr. John Watson, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.
As Netflix’s official tagline teases, “It will take a Holmes, to save a Holmes.” With a gorgeous new setting, escalating stakes, and a protagonist who is finally coming into her own both personally and professionally, this mystery is shaping up to be the ultimate summer streaming event. Enola Holmes 3 will officially premiere worldwide on Netflix on July 1, 2026.
