
The Cure returned to the stage at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on Friday night for their first performance in nearly two years.
Robert Smith led the band through a 29-song headlining set that included several surprises, including the first performances of the Lovesong B-Side “2 Late” since 2019 and of the Wild Moon Swings track “Mint Car” since 2016. The band also dusted off “alt.end” for the first time since 2018. Rounding out the The main set were classic tracks and fan favorites like “Pictures of You,” “Fascination Street,” “In Between Days,” “Just Like Heaven,” “Push, and “A Forest.”
The encore boasted a total of nine songs, including the first performance of the Galore single “Wrong Number” since 2019, plus “Hot Hot Hot!!!,” “Wrong Number,” “Let’s Go to Bed,” “The Lovecats,” “Friday I’m in Love, “Close to Me,” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”

The Primavera Sound set also marked the debut of The Cure’s new six-piece live lineup, with Eden Gallup replacing the late Perry Bamonte. on bass and keyboard.Bamonte passed away in December 2025 following a short illness.
The Cure will be on the UK/European festival circuit throughout the summer. We’re still awaiting word on that long-awaited new studio album.
