This will be the group’s first lengthy U.S. tour with the new lineup. While new members joining Black Flag is a story as old as hardcore punk, the latest lineup is notable for its age gap with Ginn, the 72-year-old founding member and guitarist. Vocalist Max Zanelly, bassist David Rodriguez, and drummer Bryce Weston are all in their 20s.
The latest iteration, labeled “Gen Z” Black Flag, performed their first shows last year in Europe and along the West Coast before doing a set at Coachella in April.
