Billy Strings Protects His Head With Helmet at Concert After Getting Hit With Object

Billy Strings Protects His Head With Helmet at Concert After Getting Hit With Object

Billy Strings isn’t making a career pivot into being a minor league hockey player. He’s just protecting his noggin from unruly concert attendees.

The guitar-picking maestro donned a helmet from Fishers, Indiana’s minor league hockey team, the Indy Fuel, at his August 7th show at the Fishers Event Center after being hit in the head by an object thrown by an audience member the previous night, the first of a three-night stand at the venue. The crowd relished the gag as it cheered him on before he went into a song with nothing but a quick, wry smile to acknowledge his headgear, video showed. The night before, Billy Strings didn’t have the same sense of humor about the incident.

While he didn’t storm off stage or rage, he was clearly perturbed from being knocked in the head by what some fans speculated online was a lighter.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have come back,” Billy Strings told the crowd after being pelted. The crowd booed after Billy Strings was hit in the head, audibly upset that an attendee would be so careless. “Why the fuck would you throw something at me? Is your dick really that small?” Billy said. “I was just getting ready to say how much I’m happy to be here and I love you guys and all this shit, and you throw something and it hits me right in the fucking head.”

“Find out who that was an sodomize them, please,” Billy Strings said after being hit.

Or, a fan could have given the assailant a good cross check into the boards.
