The wait is finally over for Kings of Leon fans: a new album is on the way. It’s called When You See Yourself and is due out in March. In anticipation of their first full-length in five years, the alt-rockers are sharing two new songs, “The Bandit” and “100,000 People”. In the lead-up to today’s unveiling, the Nashville-bred group sent out 10 one-of-a-kind shirts to superfans, each representing a different song on the new album. “Only you, and no-one else, will ever have this collective piece,” read an accompanying note, as American Songwriter points out. “Printed inside of it are the full lyrics to a new song you may hear in a couple of days, a couple of weeks, or maybe even a month or so.” An 11th shirt, featuring “The Bandit” lyrics, will be available for purchase on Kings of Leon’...
Congress officially certified Joe Biden as the next US President yesterday, which means Donald Trump’s reign is about to come to an end — and social media sites are finally ready to wave goodbye. After temporarily banning Trump’s account because he encouraged his supporters to take the Capitol under siege, Facebook is now extending its block through the end of his presidency on January 20th. Starting immediately, Trump’s access to his Facebook and Instagram accounts will be blocked for the two weeks that remain before his term in the office ends. As such, he will not be allowed to post or share any new content on either of the platforms. This is a continuation of the temporary block that Facebook put in place on January 6th after Trump posted messages encouraging his supporters to storm th...
Taylor Swift has officially released the deluxe edition of evermore onto streaming platforms, and it comes with two bonus tracks: “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go”. Take a listen below via Apple Music or Spotify. Today marks the first time the extra songs have been made available digitally. The deluxe version of evermore was originally put out in December alongside the standard album, but was only purchasable in CD and vinyl formats. “Right Where You Left Me” finds the pop singer heartbroken and unable to move on following a split-up. “Right where you left me/ You left me no, you left me no/ You left me no choice but to stay here forever,” sings a forlorn Swift. A similar ache informs “It’s Time to Go”, but the song also has moments of optimism regarding the future....
Donald Trump has 13 days left in office — tops, if he doesn’t get impeached or 25th-ed. After the events of Wednesday, he’s in such disarray he can’t even figure out where to sleep. At the same time, he’s also trying to figure out who to pardon with his last gasps of power. Unsurprisingly, a lot of folks he’s considering share the name Trump, but also on the shortlist are rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, according to Bloomberg. Weezy publicly endorsed Trump back in October, posing for a photo-op with the one-termer. Two months later, the Tha Carter V rapper pleaded guilty to a federal weapons charge stemming from a December 2019 incident where a he was found with a firearm on his private plane. The maximum sentence is 10 years, but even without a presidential pardon, he likely would...
Neal Schon has told Rolling Stone that he and his JOURNEY bandmates are “deep in” the writing and recording process for their next studio album. “It’s coming along, man,” the guitarist said. “It’s really shaping up. Narada [Michael Walden, producer/drummer] and I have been working nonstop. Jonathan [Cain, keyboards] is also working from his houses in Florida and Nashville. Arnel [Pineda, vocals] is working from Manila. [Bassist] Randy Jackson is working mostly from L.A. And it’s one of those Zoom sessions and it sounds phenomenal. It sounds like we’re all playing in the room at the same time. I actually can’t wait until we do get together and start putting the show together. The new single should be coming out mid-February.”...
ICED EARTH singer Stu Block has responded to fans who are outraged over the fact that the band’s leader Jon Schaffer is suspected of unlawful entry during a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol carried out on Wednesday (January 6) during the final Congressional vote recording for the 2020 general election. A photo of Schaffer storming the Capitol building was posted online and he is now among the “persons of interest” sought for “unrest-related offenses” by the Metropolitan Police in Washington, D.C. In the photo, Schaffer can be seen at the front of a mob, sporting a hat from Oath Keepers, an anti-government militia group, and pointing his finger pointed while yelling at someone out of the frame. Stu, the Canadian-born vocalist who has fronted ICED EARTH ...
Sebastian Bach has called out Ace Frehley and Tim “Ripper” Owens over their support for President Donald Trump. The former SKID ROW singer made his comments on the day that hundreds of pro-Trump rioters swarmed the U.S. Capitol Hill, leaving four people dead. Earlier that day, the president had urged his supporters at a rally outside the White House to march on Congress, while pushing unfounded claims of electoral fraud. On Wednesday, Bach took to his Twitter to write: “yo @ace_frehley you’ve been my hero my whole life & have been blowing my phone up telling me how much you love Donald Trump and hate Joe Biden. Just want to know as a lifelong fan do you support what happened today in the USA? Sure am glad there were no cell phones in the 70s”. In a separat...
During an appearance on a video podcast hosted by Todd Kerns, the bassist of SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS, GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Richard Fortus talked about what it was like to work with Buckethead for a couple of years in the early 2000s. The eccentric musician (real name Brian Carroll), who wears a fried-chicken bucket on his noggin and talks only through a hand puppet, quit GUNS N’ ROSES in 2004 after becoming fed up with GUNS‘ inability to complete an album or tour, his manager told MTV at the time. “Bucket is very musical, but I think a lot of guys like that — phenomenal, prodigious talent — they’re not necessarily… I think Bucket‘s music is great,” Fortus said (see video below). “What he does on his own, he’...
