Elon Musk Becomes Richest Person in the World

Because of stock market valuations that strike some as utterly divorced from reality, Elon Musk has overtaken Jeff Bezos as the richest person in the world. Via Bloomberg, his net worth is currently estimated to be $190 billion, while Bezos’ currently sits at $187 billion. Bezos had been the globe’s wealthiest man since October of 2017, when his stake in Amazon helped his fortune grow bigger than that of Bill Gates. Whatever you may think of Bezos morally, Amazon’s rising stock prices made sense. In the three years prior, the company introduced Amazon Pantry, Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Day, and drastically expanded its markets for same-day delivery. At the time it was only the world’s fourth-largest retailer, but there was every reason to think it would continue to grow. Musk’s ascension h...

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer Sought by Police for Storming the U.S. Capitol

Earlier today photos emerged of Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer storming the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday. Now, the veteran metal musician is among the persons of interest sought for “unrest-related offenses” by the Metropolitan Police in Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police unveiled a Powerpoint presentation of dozens of people who are wanted for unlawful entry of the U.S. Capitol Grounds. A photo of Schaffer, which has already run on several major news outlets, was among the pictures included. Schaffer can be seen at the front of a mob, with an Oath Keepers hat and his finger pointed while yelling at someone out of the frame. The guitarist, who formed Iced Earth in 1984, has been outspoken about his political beliefs in the past. In the past, he questioned whether H...

RUSH’s GEDDY LEE And ALEX LIFESON Reflect On NEIL PEART’s Final Years, Discuss Their Musical Future

Rolling Stone has published a lengthy new article in which RUSH drummer Neil Peart‘s bandmates and widow discuss his legacy and his final years for the first time since his passing. Guitarist Alex Lifeson and bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee both said that they haven’t been motivated to pick up their instruments in recent months. “I love playing, and I never, ever wanted to stop,” Lifeson said. “And I thought, you know, ‘One day, when I’m just sitting around shitting my pants, I’ll still want to play guitar.’ And that’s kind of gone now. After he died, it just didn’t seem important. But I think it’ll come back.” “For the longest time,” Lee said, “I didn’t have any heart to play. … I still feel t...

In a new video posted to his Zetro’s Toxic Vault YouTube channel, EXODUS frontman Steve “Zetro” Souza confirmed that the band’s upcoming album, “Persona Non Grata”, will be released this summer via Nuclear Blast. It will be the follow-up to 2014’s “Blood In Blood Out”, which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers’ first release since the departure of the group’s lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004. Jamiroquai Frontman Says He Wasn’t the Viking Rioter

There were a lot of strange characters storming D.C.’s Capitol building on Wednesday — including Ariel Pink and John Maus — but the most memorable was a man dressed as a Viking with American flag face paint. He’s Jake Angeli, an Arizona resident who’s known as the “QAnon Shaman,” but some thought he was Jay Kay, the lead singer of Jamiroquai. In response, Kay took to Twitter and shared a video of him taking on different accents while explaining it wasn’t him at the Capitol.  “Good morning world! Now some of you may be thinking you saw me in Washington last night but I’m afraid I wasn’t with all those freaks,” Kay said. While he sometimes sports some unexpected headwear on during performances—not yet a horned helmet, though maybe this will serve as some inspiration.  See his tweet...

THAT Did It?: Kanye West Running For POTUS Was Kim Kardashian’s Deal Breaker, Allegedly

Source: Joseph Marzullo/WENN.com / WENN In case you haven’t heard, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may or may not be heading to divorce. As with any potential Hollywood break up there is plenty of conjecture about what happened—and one theory gaining traction is that it was Yeezy running for President that finally made his wife at least start seriously eyeing the door. According to Page Six, one of their sources says Yeezy’s struggle bid for the top office in the land is what made her conclude that she “needed to end the marriage for the sake of her kids and her own sanity.” If you recall, Yeezy’s announcement that he was seriously running for President was an exercise in struggle. Back in July, West gathered hundreds of people for a campaign rally, during a pandemic, in Charleston, South Ca...

Ray Fisher’s Cyborg Written Out Of Upcoming ‘The Flash’ Movie

Source: CHRIS DELMAS / Getty One of the few bright spots of DC’s incredibly struggle film known as Justice League was Ray Fisher’s iteration as comic book superhero Cyborg. Although many fans want to see more of the half-man, half-robot hero, don’t expect to see him again anytime soon. Months after criticizing Justice League replacement director Joss Whedon and DC Films President, Walter Hamada, The Wrap is reporting that Ray Fisher’s Cyborg character has been written out of the highly anticipated The Flash solo film. The news comes after Fisher publicly announced that not only did he want nothing to do with the upcoming movie, but also that Walter Hamada was “the most dangerous kind of enabler” explaining that “His lies, and WB PR’s failed Sept. 4th hit-piece sought to undermine the very ...

After Twitter Suspended His Account, Facebook Is Indefinitely Banning Donald Trump From Posting

Source: SOPA Images / Getty After all of the racist and outright crazy sh*t that he has said on Twitter that many have warned would eventually lead to yesterday’s bootleg coup, social media companies have said enough. With only 14 days remaining in his nightmare term, Donald Trump, who has been pushing the norms to the limit, has finally done something that both Democrats and a sizeable number of Republicans can agree was absolutely crazy. After urging a mob of his loyal pro-Trump terrorists to storm the U.S. Capitol Building putting the lives of Congress members, Capitol Police, and his own Vice President in danger, Twitter took the unprecedented act to suspend the inciter-in-chief’s account after he continued to spew false information breaking Twitters Rules. In violation of those rules,...

Royce da 5’9 Boots ‘The Source’ Co-Founder Dave Mays Out Clubhouse Room Over Eminem Beef

Source: Catherine McGann / Getty It is a well-documented fact that Royce da 5’9 and Eminem are close friends in Hip-Hop and that their connection is more of a brotherhood than anyone on the outside can understand. While hosting a Clubhouse chat, Nickel Nine got into some funk with The Source co-founder Dave Mays regarding Slim Shady which got testy. As Clubhouse becomes one of the hottest spaces online for industry minds to meet and, at times, hash out their varying opinions, fans are uploading the previously privatized chats to social media, especially when veer off into the spicy side. Inside the room featured the likes of Just Blaze, Van Lathan, Punch of TDE, and King Los among others discussing Eminem’s legacy, loosely at that, along with the aforementioned. It appeared that many in th...
