The track is called “Fade Away,” and it’s the ultimate feel-good single that will help you remember the simpler times in life. It’s the perfect follow-up to the duo’s 2019 Armada Music smash “Fire & Gold.” “Fade Away” combines the high-energy style fans have come to know and love from VIVID and the melodic production that is signature of Page. LA Party Society Sued by City for Allegedly Violating COVID-19 Restrictions

Although the majority of clubs in Los Angeles have remained closed due to COVID-19 ordinances imposed by the city, LA Party Society has consistently flouted restrictions since March, according to City Attorney Mike Feuer. In turn, the city has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the underground nightclub.  The Los Angeles Times reports that city has been mounting evidence against LA Party Society for months, which includes multiple shootings and assaults, operating without a license, and flooding an indoor space to capacity all while in the midst of a global pandemic. The suit was filed against the organization’s manager, Yves Oscar Jr., as well as two limited liability companies owned by David Taban. Taban himself, however, is not listed i...

KORPIKLAANI Drops ‘Sanaton Maa’ Music Video

Finnish folk metallers KORPIKLAANI will release their new studio album, “Jylhä”, on February 5, 2021 via Nuclear Blast Records. The official music video for the disc’s latest single, “Sanaton Maa”, can be seen below. The darkly atmospheric and folklore-laden music video features actor Yrjänä Ermala in a lead role. Accordion player Sami Perttula comments: “‘Sanaton Maa’ is meant to be a throwback to the ’80s with a folky twist: I wanted to write a classic-sounding mid-tempo hair metal song with a killer chorus that includes all the elements I like to hear in a good song. While listening to this, I can travel back in time on the back seat of an old Honda Accord that was cosmetically fixed with way too much putty and barely worked…. On the...

Watch DREAM THEATER’s JAMES LABRIE Sing A Cappella Versions Of ‘Metropolis Pt. 1’, ‘Forsaken’ And ‘Innocence Faded’

Video of DREAM THEATER singer James LaBrie belting out a cappella versions of three of the band’s songs — “Metropolis Pt. 1”, “Forsaken” and “Innocence Faded” — can be seen below. LaBrie sang a couple of lines from each track while filming a new video message on Cameo, which lets users hire celebrities to record brief, personalized video messages about virtually any topic. Cameo reportedly features more than 20,000 celebrities — from musicians and actors to drag queens and from YouTubers to Olympic gold medallists — who, for fees from $1 to $2,500, will offer video messages that mention another person by name. Happy birthday messages are common, as are baby announcements, but some celebrities have also recorded messages for Cameo users looking to q...

Was ICED EARTH Affected By Rise Of Grunge In Early 1990s? JON SCHAFFER Weighs In

ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer spoke to Bandbond about how the rise of grunge in the early 1990s forced most hard rock bands off the radio and MTV, with album and tour sales plummeting. Asked if the popularity of bands like NIRVANA affected ICED EARTH when they first emerged, Schaffer said: “Well, I think the whole heavy music industry was, so I’m sure on some small level that we were. “You know, trends are a thing in the music business — whether it’s trends that are pushed by the major labels or whether it’s trends that are pushed by the indie labels, which, I mean, how many indie labels are there now, really? It’s all Sony and Universal buying up everything.” He continued: “I think that more of our battle was being from Florida and being a...

Mariah Carey Can’t Get Enough of This Toddler Matching Her Whistle Tone in ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’

While “All I Want For Christmas Is You” may have been released a full 23 years before the pint-sized singer was even born, it’s currently sitting at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for its second Christmas season in a row. The song marks four non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the chart dated Dec. 19 after first summiting the singles chart in Dec. 2019. The track’s record-breaking ascent last Christmas after 25 years was made even more historic as it earned the songstress the designation as the first, and so far only, act to have a No. 1 single across four separate decades — the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Elsewhere, classic holiday songs abound on the Hot 100 hits this week, with Brenda Lee‘s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Bobby Hel...

Why 2020’s Protest Songs Aren’t Part of a Passing Trend

The May 25 murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police resulted in the eruption of worldwide protests against racial injustice, as well as an influx of new protest anthems across demographics in the weeks that followed. As superstars like Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles vocalized support for the Black Lives Matter movement, artists ranging from country singer-songwriter Mickey Guyton to trap veteran Juicy J to soul-R&B star Leon Bridges rapidly released new songs commenting on systemic discrimination. Protest music soared on the charts, too: “Rockstar,” the DaBaby and Roddy Ricch smash that crowned Billboard’s 2020 Songs of the Summer chart, received an official “BLM remix” in the weeks after Floyd’s death, while “The Bigger Picture,” Lil Baby’s poig...
