Charly Bliss and PUP are here to save the holidays with “It’s Christmas and I Fucking Miss You.” The song premiered last weekend on Charly Bliss’ holiday livestream It’s A Blissful Life, but it’s available everywhere now. It comes with a playful video on YouTube, starting with Charly Bliss’ Eva Hendricks singing into a hairbrush in the shower. “Our managers have been trying to get us to write a Christmas song for years and we’ve never followed through, but we decided that enlisting our friends in PUP would at least make it fun,” said Hendricks in a statement. “We never imagined we’d be so proud and absolutely thrilled as we are by the results. Phoebe Bridgers Performs Dreamy Version of ‘Kyoto’ in Her Bed
The old joke about a musician getting to Carnegie Hall has the punchline “practice,” but Phoebe Bridgers made it to the venue in her dreams during a strings-only version of “Kyoto” on The Late Late Show With James Corden. A pajamas-clad Bridgers starts off by singing in bed, microphone in hand, before arising, walking through a smoky doorway… and on to the “stage” at Carnegie Hall. David Bowie’s Unreleased Covers of John Lennon and Bob Dylan Will Finally Be Unearthed for 74th Birthday
Even beyond the grave, David Bowie continues to gift us new music. On January 8th, what would have been his 74th birthday, two previously unreleased covers will be made available to the public for the very first time. The first is Bowie’s take on “Mother”, the 1970 track from John Lennon. This cover was originally recorded in 1998 with the Thin White Duke’s longtime producer Tony Visconti. It was supposed to appear on a Lennon tribute collection, but the release never came to fruition. Meanwhile, the second offering is a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tryin’ to Get to Heaven”, taken from his 1997 Grammy-winning album Time Out of Mind. As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis is in the hospital after a bonfire accident left him with burns to 25% of his body. The controversial metal vocalist, who notoriously served time for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife, posted about his condition Wednesday (December 16th) on Instagram. The metalcore singer shared a photo of himself in the hospital, fully bandaged but with a smile on his face as he was about to undergo a procedure to remove dead skin.
