FOO FIGHTERS’ ‘Shame Shame’ Tops BILLBOARD’s Mainstream Rock Songs Airplay Chart

FOO FIGHTERS‘ “Shame Shame” has topped Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart. The track marks the band’s ninth Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1 and first since 2017’s “The Sky Is a Neighborhood”. “Shame Shame” is taken from FOO FIGHTERS‘ new album “Medicine At Midnight”, which will be released on February 5, 2021 via Roswell Records/RCA Records. Regarding the track, FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl told Kerrang!: “When we first started recording the record, we were recording songs that were recognizable as the FOO FIGHTERS. Actually, the first song that we recorded is the first song on the record: ‘Making A Fire’. And that really kind of set the tone, like, ‘Okay, this is really up an...

WOLFGANG VAN HALEN: ‘My Father’s Pride And Belief In Me Is What Keeps Me Going’

Wolfgang Van Halen has opened up about the passing of his father, legendary VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen. The 29-year-old spoke about his dad while promoting “Distance”, the first single from his solo band MAMMOTH WVH. Wolfgang wrote the song while Eddie battled cancer. “He had been struggling [with his health] over the years,” Wolfgang told Pierre Robert of the Philadelphia radio station 93.3 WMMR (see video below). “It was up and down, but we always had faith that he’d make it through. I’d been working on my album for so long, and it was ready to go, but it was either you wanna go on tour and not be home, or do you wanna spend time with your dad. And I think I made the right choice.” Asked how his dealing with the loss of his father ...

ZZ TOP’s BILLY F GIBBONS Announces New Year’s Eve Livestream Concert With THE JUNGLE SHOW

The five principals of THE JUNGLE SHOW are at it again. They are the grouping of like-minded legendary musicians who — quite simply stated — have gotten together after Christmas and in advance of New Year’s Eve for the past five years at Antone’s in Austin to play the blues as the blues should be played. Out of necessity, this year’s version of THE JUNGLE SHOW takes the form of a livestream event with state-of-the-art production values. The stellar performance by guitar greats Billy F Gibbons, Jimmie Vaughan and Sue Foley with drummer Chris Layton and Mike Flanigin transpired at Antone’s last week as a multi-camera HD shoot with multitrack audio mixed to record quality. The show will be uplinked at four different times on New Year’s Eve to coincide with 8 p.m....

Symphony of Death – DEATHORCHESTRA

RATING: 8/10 A collaboration between Russian death metal band BUICIDE and the Olympic Symphony Orchestra, “Symphony of Death” presents cherished gems from the DEATH back catalogue, embellished with gung-ho orchestral oomph. There are, of course, countless examples of metal bands jamming with violinists and tuba players, but not every such project resounds with the passion and musical eloquence that these relative unknowns display here. Every sensible metalhead knows that Chuck Schuldiner was, particularly towards the end of his tragically short career, an authentic composer, every bit as much as he was a world-class shredder and metal icon. As a result, as the mellifluous, orchestra-augmented strains of elegiac instrumental “Voice of the Soul” ring out, the whole DE...

Ninajirachi & Kota Banks Talk the ‘Different Energy’ of Producing With a Fellow Female

In Agzarian’s experience, working alongside likeminded women had fostered creative freedom. She wanted other female artists to have the same experience. Enter singer/songwriter Kota Banks and producer Ninajirachi. Agzarian had been working with both Australian artists since 2017 via NLV Records and saw promise in putting them together in the studio. “It sounds a little maternal,” Agzarian says, “but in this day and age, thanks to the Internet, actual IRL connection to friends that do what you do and like what you like is harder to find, so linking them seemed essential.” This essential pairing also proved prescient, with Banks (born Jessica Mimi Porfiri) and Ninajirachi (born Nina Wilson) together producing their seven-song True North EP. Self-r...

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin Cover the Knack on Seventh Night of Hanukkah

Another night of Hanukkah, another cover of a Jewish artist from Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters producer Greg Kurstin. On the seventh night of the festival of lights, the duo covered the Knack’s “Frustrated” as the latest installment of their Hanukkah Sessions. “Tonight we’re featuring 4 nice Jewish boys whose biggest hit was a song about a nice Jewish girl… “My Shalom-a” or something like that… We’re huge fans of New Wave (as well as the “old wave” that came after Moses parted the Red Sea) so we are psyched to present…The Knack!” a statement from the duo said. Watch it below. [embedded content] The cover follows renditions of Elastica’s “Connection,” Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away,” Mountain’s “Mississippi Quee...

CupCakKe Comes For Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez & Others On Her Version To “How To Rob”

Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty Well, it worked for 50 Cent… kinda. 21 years after Fiddy dropped his ear-catching comedic record “How To Rob,” CupCakKe’s decided to rip a page out of Fif’s pre-Shady Records playbook and dropped a record imagining herself pulling juxes on some of today’s top artists. “I’ma run up on Amigos, shoot ’em like a freethrow, n*gga i’m so unbothered/drop Offset body in a jungle since he wanna be a cheater, forgive me Lord Father,” CupCakKe says at one point. Well, we wonder how Cardi B might feel about that line right there. While she has some pretty pointed lines aimed at the like of Tory Lanez, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion, CupCakKe insists she has no beef to cook with anyone mentioned on the cut and “it’s all love.” I think it’s a beautiful thing & an...

HHW Gaming: ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ Season 1 Is Live, Here Is What To Expect

Source: Activision / Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s first massive update has arrived, and it’s a doozy. Here is what you can expect after the update is complete. Our biggest complaint was the multiplayer’s lack of maps in our review of the latest installment in the famed Call of Duty franchise. In Battle Pass Season 1, that issued is finally addressed in a big way with the addition of new 6v6 maps like The Pines, which will have you battling out in a 1980s New Jersey mall, The Raid from Black Ops II, and Nuketown’84 Holiday which gets a festive makeover. There will also be new weapons players can get just by playing the game. The season 1 patch will see the arrival of the Mac-10, a compact SMG with a high rate of fire and can be unlocked by re...
