WOLFGANG VAN HALEN Blasts Magazine For Publishing ‘Lies’ About His Father And Mother

Wolfgang Van Halen has blasted Us Weekly for publishing an allegedly fact-challenged cover story on his mother, including how she is dealing with the death of his father, Eddie Van Halen. Earlier today, Wolfgang tweeted out a picture of the new issue of Us Weekly with his mother on the cover, along with the headline: “Valerie Bertinelli’s Untold Story: Love, Loss & Staying Strong”. The 29-year-old musician wrote in an accompanying caption: “Fuck this, and fuck you @usweekly. “The only thing printed in this piece of toilet paper that’s true is that we all loved my father. “This is not a new interview. My mother did not speak to them for this. That is all.” He added in a separate tweet: ” I know what a lot of you are going to say. ...

SEBASTIAN BACH Dons ‘F**k TRUMP’ T-Shirt For Pre-Election Video Message: ‘Vote For Rock And Roll Music Over Reality Television’

Sebastian Bach has urged his fans to make their voices heard in next week’s presidential election, saying in a video message that they should “vote for rock and roll music over reality television.” The former SKID ROW singer donned a “Fuck Trump” t-shirt but did not explicitly back Democratic challenger Joe Biden in his message, focusing instead on the issues he said had hindered the U.S. from adequately tackling the coronavirus pandemic. “We are days away, hours away from an election on November 3rd, which is by far the most important election of all of our lifetimes, and maybe the most important election of all time,” Sebastian said. “Because this is about democracy. This is about choosing who is the best man to run our country — and itR...

Tom Holland on the Queer Subtext of 1985’s Fright Night

Listen via Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Radio Public |  Stitcher  |  RSS Happy Halloween, trick or treaters, dreamers, and campers. Believe it or not, but the Halloweenies have one more spooky surprise for you. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to get on the horn with the one and only Tom Holland. 2020 is the 35th anniversary of Holland’s directorial debut — one of our favorite Halloween rewatches — 1985’s Fright Night. So, in celebration, we spoke with the Master of Horror about his vampiric classic during a pleasant October afternoon. Together, we sank our teeth into the film’s rich pre-production history, the queer subtext that has since led to countless reevaluations (including by our pals the Horror Queers), ...

Busta Rhymes Performs “YUUUU” with Anderson .Paak on Fallon: Watch

Busta Rhymes dropped his star-studded comeback album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God on Friday. The New York rapper celebrated his big release by stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that evening to perform “YUUUU” — and he received some on-stage assistance from none other than Anderson .Paak. Backed by a live band and standing atop a proper stage, the gym rat and veteran rapper led his crew through a synchronized dance in time with the staccato rap song. He, Spliff Star, and .Paak all took turns spitting out their lines while dancing side to side, rolling their arms in the air, and staying light on their toes. Their chemistry was undeniable, and for performing to an empty room, they sure knew how to keep the mood high. Don’t miss the moment where B...

Bruce Springsteen Narrates Joe Biden Ad: “Times Are Harder Than They Ought to Be”

In a bid to solidify his support in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, Joe Biden has called upon Bruce Springsteen to narrate and soundtrack a new campaign spot. Titled “Hometown”, the ad is geared towards working class people, such as those found in Biden’s hometown of Scranton, PA, and is appropriately soundtracked by Springsteen’s own song “My Hometown”. “Scranton, Pennsylvania. Here, success isn’t handed down,” Springsteen begins. “It’s forged in sweat, grit and determination. This is his hometown. In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. But here, and in towns across America, times are harder than they ought to be. Lives are on pause, dreams on hold, futures in doubt.” He goes on to add, “He’s running to change that, to give working people the shot they deserve. An honest living...

How Sean Connery’s Final Role Capped Off His Career

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a disaster. Less an adaptation of the Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill graphic novels of the same name than a slapped-together cash-in on the action-horror craze of films like The Mummy, the 2003 film was reviled by critics and opened second to Pirates of the Caribbean. It also happens to serve as the final on-screen role for Sir Sean Connery, who passed today at the age of 90. Stories abound about how much Connery clashed with the film’s director, Blade‘s Stephen Norrington, while filming, and how those experiences allegedly led him to retire from acting in 2006. (Yes, Sir Billi fans, I know that’s technically his final role, but two hours in a voice booth as a skateboarding CG veterinarian isn’t quite the same as starring in a summer b...

El-P, Charli XCX, Lizzo and More Are in the Halloween Spirit

It really is cruel that Halloween is on a Saturday this year — between the pandemic and looming election, it’s hard to let loose and celebrate much of anything right now — but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up, even if your costume party is hosted by Zoom. Run The Jewels’ El-P and his wife Emily Panic paid tribute to The Sopranos by dressing up as Tony and Carmela Soprano. Charli XCX got ghoulish with red latex and a creepy monster sleeve. Halsey, the queen of Halloween, went all out on a Corpse Bride costume, while YUNGBLUD dressed up in two different costumes (Wednesday Addams and Beetlejuice). But Lizzo might have taken the cake this year — she dressed up as 2020’s hero, the fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head during the vice presidential debate. See all these and more cos...

Sean Connery, The Original James Bond, Dead At 90

Sean Connery, the whiskey-voiced son of Scotland who brought James Bond to the screen for the first time and went on to lead a long and celebrated acting career, died on Saturday (October 31). He was 90. The BBC reported that the actor passed peacefully in his sleep after being “unwell for some time,” according to his son, Jason Connery. “We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently,” he said. “A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.” Donaldson Collection/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images Born Thomas Sean Connery on August 25, 1930, his challenging childhood in the slums of Edinburgh influenced much of hi...

Insomniac Acquires Promotional Company Club Glow and Venues Echostage and Soundcheck

Insomniac is taking gigantic steps to expand its footprint and influence on the east coast. The global events operator has announced the acquisition of dance music promoter Club Glow as well as venues Echostage and Soundcheck, based in Washington, DC. The acquisition, announced this week, was finalized in February of this year. The deal was reportedly to be announced at this year’s Winter Music Conference, which was ultimately cancelled. The deal will see Club Glow founding partner Pete Kalamoutsos continue to helm the company he helped establish back in 1999. Club Glow has built a thriving book of business that included 150 shows annually at Echostage alone prior to the pandemic. The massive club was the largest venue in DC when it opened in 2012. The company opened t...

TroyBoi Announces New Single “Mother Africa” Due Out Next Month

TroyBoi has announced his next move. Britain’s trap don is set to drop a new single, “Mother Africa,” next month. For the first time in three weeks, TroyBoi took to Twitter, breaking his silence and musing that it may be time for some new music. Luckily, fans did not have to wait long for the “Warlordz” producer to make good on that statement.  “The music that will be coming out of the speakers in my sets when shows start again…I’m shook for you,” TroyBoi said on social media back in August 2020. While we won’t be able to hear the full impact of what he’s been cooking up in a main stage setting, the producer is ready to serve up something hot. His latest announcement arrived without a preview, but the ominous, emerald-tinged ...

Feed Me Shares How He Was Discovered By deadmau5 After Dropping Demos Online

In an interview with MusicRadar, dance music’s favorite green monster Feed Me shared insight on his early career-defining moments, including the story of how he was first discovered. Jon Gooch, the multi-alias producer behind Feed Me, Spor, and Seventh Stitch, started as a graphic designer. In his teens, he started generating income doing design-related commission work, a step that allowed him to fund his musical endeavors.  He downloaded FL Studio and rapidly began making headway under his drum & bass-focused alias, Spor. The Spor project showed promise, as Gooch was signed to a label and played shows around the UK. Ultimately, however, he wasn’t attached to the drum ‘n’ bass genre as a whole, thus Feed Me was born out of a need for change. Chang...
