In a new interview with Joe Rock of Long Island’s rock station 102.3 WBAB, WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale was asked about the apparent lack of humor in the band’s lyrics. David responded: “Well, it’s interesting, because particularly now, I’m very active on social media. I know, just from e-mails that we receive and positive messages, a lot of the stuff I post puts a much-needed smile or gives somebody a laugh or touches a nerve. I’ve always been a proponent of meditation. Although I don’t preach it, I encourage people that it would be helpful to them during this very challenging time. “And that’s the other reason that Rhino and I said, ‘Let’s go ahead with our plan for the ‘Red, White And Blue’ trilogy.R...

King Diamond has released a new Instagram filter which allows fans to appear as though they’re wearing the legendary Danish heavy metal singer’s face paint. Several fans have already posted selfies using the photo-editing tool, as seen in various tweets below. Asked in a 2019 interview with Kerrang! magazine where the idea for his makeup came from, King said: “It started with Peter Gabriel. I’d seen photos of Alice Cooper, but it was when I saw GENESIS live that I thought, ‘If I do something, I have to have a show to go with the music.’ I saw Alice the next year, in 1975, and that blew my mind.” King also confirmed that KISS bassist Gene Simmons once threatened to sue him over the makeup. “They said, ‘Your makeup is getting too close, y...
We’re just a few days out from the election, and as the presidential candidates make their final push, Joe Biden’s pulling out the big guns. On Friday, the Democratic nominee shared a campaign ad focusing on his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and it’s narrated by Bruce Springsteen. “Scranton, Pennsylvania. Here, success isn’t handed down. It’s forged with sweat, grit, and determination. This is his hometown,” the Boss says while images of Scranton and its citizens, including Biden, flash on the screen. “In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. He’s running to change that.” The minute-long clip is soundtracked by Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A. sing...

Following his death earlier this month, musicians who were fortunate enough to meet Eddie Van Halen have been sharing their fondest memories. For American guitar players, he was the supreme thing. He’s the one who pushed us to be better than we probably would have been,” the Smashing Pumpkins bandleader gushed after he was asked about EVH’s influence on his own guitar playing. “I was lucky because, around 1997 [or] ’98, there was a guitar magazine in America, and I went to them, and I said, ‘I’d really like to interview Eddie Van Halen,’” he continued. “And they said, ‘Why do you wanna interview ...

Irwin is the first of the group to launch a separate solo project. As the drummer, he is kno...
