Chris Cornell’s Estate Releases Covers Album No One Sings Like You Anymore
In his later years, Chris Cornell covered an eclectic array of artists and took these familiar songs and made them his own. Earlier this year, his cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience” flew up the charts and now, there’s a full album along with it. Titled No One Sings Like You Anymore, this collection of songs was recorded in 2016 and serves as Cornell’s final completed studio album. The singer handpicked the 10 cover songs to celebrate artists and songs that inspired him. Cornell sequenced the record, which was mixed and produced by Brendan O’Brien. R.I.P. Tommy Lister Jr., Friday Actor Dead at 62
Tommy “Tiny” Lister Jr., who famously played Deebo in the Friday film franchise, has died at the age of 62. According to TMZ, police found Lister’s body at his Marina Del Rey apartment on Thursday (December 10th) just before 3 p.m. local time. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but a cause was not immediately clear. Lister’s other notable film roles included playing the Galactic President in The Fifth Element; Adam Sandler’s character’s older brother Cassius in Little Nicky; and the bail agent in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. Dave Grohl Kicks Off Hanukkah Sessions with Cover of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”: Watch
Hanukkah officially begins today, and with it brings the launch of The Hanukkah Sessions, a new song series from Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin. The project sees the pair covering one Jewish musician every night of the eight-day holiday. For the first installment, Grohl and Kurstin take on Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”. While the two don’t celebrate Hanukkah the same way — Kurstin is Jewish, Grohl is not — you wouldn’t know it from the intensity of their performance. Bruce Campbell is heading back into the woods. Tonight, The Video Game Awards unveiled the first trailer for Evil Dead: The Game, which finds the retired veteran voicing the one and only Ash Williams. Even better, he’s not alone at the cabin. Joining him is Ash vs. Evil Dead co-star Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell. Judging from the footage, it would appear that the new title — developed by Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive — will feature co-op and PvP action.
