Lil Wayne Charged With Firearm Possession, Faces Maximum of 10 Years If Convicted

Rapper Lil Wayne has been charged in Miami federal court with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. If convicted, the maximum penalty is 10 years in prison. The charge, brought by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, was filed in connection with an incident last year in December when, as the Miami Herald wrote, the rapper flew to Miami on a private jet which was searched by federal authorities who found drugs and a gun on the plane. The first Miami federal court appearance for Lil Wayne is scheduled for December 11th. The rapper served a year in prison over 10 years ago after a 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun was found on his tour bus in July 2007. The rapper pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Federal l...

Watch Kayzo Drop Filthy Unreleased Dubstep Track at Ultra Taiwan

In his official return to the festival scene, Kayzo went as hard as you could imagine. In his official return to the festival scene, Kayzo went as hard as you could imagine. The bass music titan touched down in East Asia for Ultra Taiwan and didn’t disappoint, dropping an absolute flamethrower of a set chock full of his anthemic bass music and signature, metal-infused electronic sound. It was an unreleased ID that he debuted at the end of his set, however, that had the crowd buzzing about his performance. Kayzo took to Twitter to share a clip of the drop and exult in his first “normal” festival performance since the onset of the global lockdown period. “No words to describe this moment. Surreal to feel this again,” he wrote. “I almost teared up multiple ...

Major Lazer is Performing a Groundbreaking Concert in Social VR for Oculus’ “Venues”

Major Lazer is on a mission to shatter the boundaries of music and VR. Thanks to the impact of COVID-19, the live music industry has mutated into a Frankenstein-like monster of drive-in shows, Black Mirror-esque bubble concerts, and quasi-legal raves. Since live music literally has nowhere to go, it has invaded the livestreaming and immersive tech fields, which have emerged as fortuitous bolt-holes as concert venues across the globe navigate the convoluted process of reopening.  Ergo, artists and event promoters have been forced to adapt to a digital lifestyle in order to reach fans during a time when they are simply unable to connect via live music. Barnstorming, Latin Grammy Award-nominated dance music trio Major Lazer is the latest act to do so by testing the white-hot waters of th...

GENE SIMMONS: Why U.S. States Have To Mandate Mask Use

Gene Simmons has defended some U.S. governors’ decision to mandate mask-wearing in their states, saying people who are defiantly skeptical of wearing face coverings are putting all of our health at risk. After the KISS bassist/vocalist shared a news story about Republican Iowa governor issuing a mask mandate after previously disparaging face covering restrictions as “feel-good” measures, a fan asked Gene on Twitter, “Why do you have to mandate what is obviously a personal choice?” Simmons responded: “Interesting question. Answer: We all have to stop at a red light. That’s because if we don’t, it, it would effect others. Jets don’t allow smoking. Even if you don’t feel like it…Wearing a mask, protects others from YOU…Ev...

AC/DC’s ANGUS YOUNG Gets Emotional Discussing MALCOLM YOUNG’s Dementia-Related Mental ‘Decline’ (Video)

In a new interview with Australia’s “60 Minutes”, AC/DC guitarist Angus Young reflected on the passing of his brother, founding AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young. Malcolm, who died in 2017 from effects of dementia at age 64, is credited as a writer on all 12 tracks on AC/DC‘s latest album, “Power Up”. According to Angus, music provided some of Malcolm‘s greatest comfort in his final days, after he was moved into full-time care in a nursing home facility in Sydney, Australia’s eastern suburbs specializing in dementia. “I think the hardest part was not so much him passing, because that was a kind of end, a relief,” Angus said (see video below). “I think the worst part is the decline — that’s the hard part. Because of ...

WOLFGANG VAN HALEN Was ‘Ready’ To Retire From VAN HALEN And Clear Way For MICHAEL ANTHONY To Return

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Wolfgang Van Halen dicussed his recent revelation that his father, legendary VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen, had contemplated a “kitchen-sink tour” that would have included bassist Michael Anthony, as well as vocal turns from both Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth. There was even talk about bringing back Gary Cherone, who sang with the band on one poorly received album, 1998’s “Van Halen III”. Asked if he thinks he could have gotten Roth to take part in such a tour, Wolfgang said: “I would have loved to see it happen. Unfortunately, we’ll never know the answer to that. I think at a certain point you would have just had to get everybody in a room and just be like, ‘Come on, how awesome would this be?'&#...

PAUL STANLEY Blasts TRUMP Adviser SCOTT ATLAS For Telling Michigan To ‘Rise Up’ Against COVID-19 Restrictions

KISS frontman Paul Stanley has blasted White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Scott Atlas, a neuroradiologist and senior fellow at the University’s Hoover Institution, after he wrote a tweet that many interpreted as potentially inciting violence. On Sunday, Atlas tweeted: “The only way this stops is if people rise up. You get what you accept. #FreedomMatters #StepUp.” The tweet came in response to the announcement of new COVID-19 restrictions made by Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer as cases spiked in the state. Whitmer was targeted in an alleged kidnapping plot by so-called militia members which was foiled by the FBI just before the election. About three hours after the original tweet, Atlas attempted to walk back his comment as the criticism poured in, saying h...

A spokesperson for the platform confirmed to Billboard that the virtual shows received more than 33 million visits. The spokesperson said those numbers include fans who may have come back multiple times to catch all or parts of the quartet of shows, or who participated in other parts of the experience that included a pre-show scavenger hunt, a Q&A and Lil Nas X music video performance.
