Shonda Rhimes Left ABC Because Execs Fronted On Extra Disneyland Pass

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN Others will treat you the way you teach them to treat you. This a lesson that a major network learned from not putting enough respect on their top performer’s name. As spotted on Vulture Shonda Rhimes is planning to make boss moves in 2021 and beyond. In a recent interview with the The Hollywood Reporter the writer-producer will finally see the fruit of labor with regards to her new deal with Netflix. Three years ago the creative jumped ship from ABC to the streaming giant but it never made clear what prompted her to hit the eject button from what seemed to many as a super cozy situation. But everything that glitters isn’t gold. Rhimes cites that the pressure of delivering great content for a network was at times unbearable. I felt like I was d...

LisaRaye McCoy Reveals Stacey Dash Brought Security After On Set Altercation

Source: Leon Bennett / Getty LisaRaye McCoy is about that life and one year after setting the internet on fire with news she had to show former MAGA mouthpiece, Stacey Dash, she’s back with a little more tea to add to it. During her recent interview with longtime friend, Vivica Fox, for her podcast Hustling with Vivica Fox, McCoy revealed new details about the verbal spat she had with her former co-star Stacey Dash on the set of the VH1 show, Single Ladies. “At first she was real cool. I’m just going to put that out there. She was dating somebody. She was happy,” LisaRaye said. But as McCoy revealed back in 2019 during TVOne’s Uncensored, the “cool” didn’t last too long after long hours left the now shamed actress “frustrated” due to the amount of time she had to spend on se...

For the past few years T.I.’s been keeping himself quite busy outside of his music career what with his participation in social justice causes and reality TV, but lately the self-proclaimed King of The South has been releasing some new work and looking to reclaim the throne he’s left vacant for quite some time. Today Tip comes through with some new work in which he pays homage to another King, The Notorious B.I.G. with his visuals to the Rahky assisted “Hypno.” Sampling the classic Biggie cut “Hypnotize,” the black-and-white visuals finds T.I. and company politicking in a mansion with all the fixings including chess boards and walk-in closets. Mario meanwhile done went from teenage sensation to getting his grown man on and in his clip to “Pretty Mouth Magick” finds himself getting seduced ...

So that’s why everything is up in the air, man. No one knows what’s gonna happen with this.” According to Jason, the last seven months have been particularly...

Forgotten Days – PALLBEARER

RATING: 10/10 It didn’t take long for PALLBEARER to perfect their masterful mix of melancholy and beauty after their 2012 debut, “Sorrow and Extinction”. Heck, that mix was damn near perfect coming out of the starting gate. It’s been a testament to their mastery of songcraft and melodic doom metal that even through minor tweaks here and there on subsequent records, their musical concoctions still remain emotionally and sonically powerful from the first moment a listener presses play. The overall production of their newest record, “Forgotten Days”, is grungier and dirtier than their last couple of records. The record also has their catchiest and most straightforwardly metal song, as well as what may be the most goth song of their career. The fact that PAL...

ill.Gates & Mr. Bill Team Up on Funky Dubstep Collab “Cabbatsu” [Premiere]

This Friday, October 23rd, innovative bass music producer ill.Gates returns with a collab with fellow bass wizard and close friend, Mr. Bill. “Cabbatsu” serves as a preview to his forthcoming album, The Arrival, and is hot on the heels of official remixes for Dead Kennedys and Gucci Mane. ill.Gates and Mr. Bill have debuted the track today exclusively via EDM.com. “Cabbatsu” opens with a void of synths and vocoded vocals. Wasting little time, the track dives into percussive dubstep only 10 seconds in. The dub’s ferocity provides a tempo that induces raucous head-banging, but as per usual, the producers sprinkle in their own flair of fun. Dancing synths and an organic horn section—courtesy of Sylvain Canton—create an innovative dance track that will appease a wide palette p...

Investment Firm Acquires Calvin Harris’ Publishing Catalog for $90 Million

In what could be a watershed moment for electronic music producers, Calvin Harris has sold his publishing catalog for a staggering $90 million. Vine Alternative Investments—a New York-based entertainment industry investment firm—has acquired the rights to Harris’ expansive publishing catalog of over 150 tracks, many of which are considered modern dance music classics. Billboard reports that the purchase cost Vine a cool $90 million and could close as high as $110 million. “Vine’s process was extremely smooth,” said Mark Gillespie, Harris’ longtime manager and CEO of music management firm Three Six Zero. “We valued their quick response time, exceptional knowledge of the space and straight-forward approach. We are very comfortable that they w...

Excision Shares Full Subsidia Virtual Stage Set from Lost Lands’ Couch Lands Stream

Dubstep fans rejoice: Excision has released his full Subsidia virtual stage set from Lost Lands‘ Couch Lands stream. Prior to the official launch of his new Subsidia Records banner, Excision took the virtual stage to drop the curtain on a centrifuge of unreleased IDs, sending his fanbase into a rabbit hole of theories. In retrospect, the set moonlighted as an all-out Subsidia showcase, featuring an expansive selection of the 118 songs he went on to release. Those unlucky head-bangers who were unable to catch the momentous performance can now do so after Excision uploaded the set in full. It’s important to note how much work goes into planning a performance of this magnitude. Excision and his team toiled away for weeks to pull of the technical tour de force. “Immerse ...

An undisputed pioneer within the electronic music space, DJ Sliink has been crowned by his peers as the “Jersey Club King,” and for good reason. One of the first breakout stars to come out of Newark, New Jersey, DJ Sliink took Jersey Club music—a sub-genre that boomed out of the city in the late 90s—and took it to mainstages around the world while working alongside artists such as Skrillex, Wale, Flosstradamus, and Fetty Wap. DJ Sliink is now back with one of his most interesting collaborations to date, teaming up with charismatic singer-songwriter Ayelle for “Money Mouth.” The Swedish-Iranian talent, who released her critically acclaimed debut mixtape NOMAD earlier in 2020, is known for working with the likes of Sonn, ford., Taska Black, and Alex Lustig, among many others....

Elton John Gets His Own Barbie Doll

Just in time for the holidays, Elton John has launched his very own Barbie doll. In a collaboration with Mattel, The Rocket Man himself has decked out the beloved children’s toy with his signature getup: tinted glasses, a purple bowler hat, bomber jacket, platform boots, and flared jeans emblazoned with his initials. More than a great children’s gift, the doll doubles as a commemorative token for the 45-year celebration of his iconic 1975 Dodgers Stadium performance, which was a high-point in the 2019 film Rocketman. An image of John hunched over the piano in his sparkling Dodgers uniform is pictured on the doll’s box, which is also decked out in 3D stars. In a quote published in Rolling Stone, John revealed how excited he was to carry out a collaboration with this storied pop cu...
