Prince’s Estate Shares Previously Unreleased Song ‘I Need a Man’

We’re less than 10 days away from the release of the massive Sign O’ the Times box set that features over 60 previously unheard songs from Prince’s vault. Whether or not he wanted them released is one thing, but over the past month or so, a bunch of them from this collection have surfaced. The latest from that batch is “I Need a Man.” At just over five-and-a-half minutes, the funked-up, jazzy tune sounds like it could have and should have been at home on Sign O’ the Times. The song was recorded at the Washington Avenue Warehouse on Jan. 22, 1987, months before his Paisley Park Studios would be completed. Fun fact: the song was one of four that Prince offered to Bonnie Raitt. The tune was originally written for Vanity 6 predecessors The Hookers in August 1981, which...

Teyana Taylor “1800-One-Night,” Janelle Monae “Turntables” & More | Daily Visuals 9.16.20

Source: Def Jam / Def Jam Teyana Taylor’s never been a shy one when it comes to flaunting her toned physical degree but in her latest visuals the songstress shows minimal skin and still turns in a sensual and seductive performance. For her latest video to “1800-One-Night,” Spike Tee gets her Girl 6 on and becomes a phone sex operator because how else is she supposed to make paper during a rampant pandemic? She can’t exactly do shows right now. We wonder if Iman Shumpert is her number one customer? Janelle Monae meanwhile gets into the protest mindset and for her clip to “Turntables” takes on white supremacy in AmeriKKKa and calls for the people to take to the streets and make their voices heard while raising their fists. Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Peso Peso, Ki...

Cardi B Deads Rumors Her Divorce Is Result Of Offset Impregnating Another Woman

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Cardi B shocked (but didn’t necessarily surprise) the Hip-Hop world when she filed for divorce of her husband of three years, Offset. With all kinds of rumors flying around from Cardi having caught Offset cheating on her (again) to the Migos rapper having put a bun in another woman’s oven, Cardi has decided to break her silence and address the reason behind the couple’s split with her confidant, vlogger Lovely TI. Speaking for Cardi (kinda), LT deaded rumors that Offset had added a new baby mama to his stable and explained that Cardi and Offset simply grew apart like anyone else who might’ve rushed into a marriage. Revealing that Cardi told her she was upset about the baby rumors and actually called Offset to confront him about it (he denies it), TI ...

How Teen Mom 2‘s Chelsea Is Winning Her Years-Long Battle With Anxiety

Chelsea has described her anxiety, which she has suffered from for years, as “debilitating” on Teen Mom 2. And during this week’s episode, the mother of three expressed that her struggle has lessened — thanks in part to several life changes. “When I used to go to meet with Laurie, I would always be so nervous and quiet,” Cheslea told Cole about her business collaboration with Lauriebelles (a local clothing store with online merchandise). “Because I think my anxiety was so bad that I wasn’t ever leaving the house. And then I started doing this, and it got me out and doing things for a reason. I think I needed that.” Another update, which had not yet been disclosed unlike the aforementioned professional venture: Chelsea began treatment. &...

Blood Orange Teams Up with 박혜진 Park Hye Jin for New Song “CALL ME (Freestyle)”: Stream

Blood Orange (photo by Ben Kaye) and 박혜진 Park Hye Jin (photo courtesy of artist’s Bandcamp) Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, has teamed up with Los Angeles experimental pop musician 박혜진 Park Hye Jin for a new song titled “CALL ME (Freestyle)”. The track marks his first Blood Orange release since guesting on The Avalanches collaboration “We Will Always Love You” back in February. Today’s so-called “freestyle” falls somewhere between a remix and an interpolation of Park’s original “CALL ME” from 2019. Hynes alternately raps and sings over that song’s weary, lo-fi piano beat for a while, and then Park pops in later for her own verse. The collaborative track is accompanied by a video featuring footage that Hynes shot while wandering around New York City in March. It pairs perfectly wi...
