Like a lot of Instagram users her age, 20-year-old Bea Kristi has at least one alt account. Her main, for the confessional guitar music she releases as Beabadoobee (styled lowercase, of course), remains a trove of promo pics, song teases, and bedroom selfies. That frees up her alt to devote prime grid real estate to extremely cute red pandas. As with plenty of other ideas rooted in comfort and good vibes, Bea’s @redpandadoobee emerged from being stoned and scrolling on her phone. “I’m on the tour bus, and I think I just had the munchies. I was just munching on some food and I just come across this video of this red panda,” she tells MTV News. “So my guitar tech walks in, like, ‘You look like you’re crying,’ and I’m like, yeah, no, these are the cutest things I’ve see...
Rust on gold is physically impossible, but Claud doesn’t care. The nonbinary, indie-pop singer defies the laws of chemistry in their latest cut, a mellow, self-aware take on a doomed relationship with an absolute earworm of a chorus. (“Gold” is their first release under Saddest Factory, Punisher songstress Phoebe Bridgers’s new record label.) “I’m too optimistic when I think that this’ll work out / Without anothеr emotional night where we both break down,” Claud confesses, which — ouch. Too real? Chase the burn with the song’s campy, pastel-hued visuals. —Sam Manzella You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. In a new interview with USA Today, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee spoke about the recent passing of legendary VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen. He said: “I’m still in shock about that. Three weeks ago, I was hanging out with [former VAN HALEN singer] Sammy Hagar and he didn’t mention anything about it. I assumed he had gotten the cancer taken out, and he was on the up and up. But man, what a sad thing. We literally lost one of the most innovative, incredible guitar players of our time. By far.” Asked if it’s true that MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil once bit Eddie, Tommy replied: “Yes. We were all on the ‘Monsters Of Rock’ tour [in 1984]: AC/DC, VAN HALEN, MÖTLEY CRÜE. We were all partying, and MÖTLEY had this thing we would do if we really l...
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, who celebrated the 19th anniversary of his getting sober in July, was asked in a new interview with Forbes when he first realized it was cool to live his life alcohol-free. He replied: “I know it doesn’t make fans happy to say I don’t really care about being in a band. That’s really not my life purpose. This is my life purpose. Being in a band is fun. And, for me, it’s just a way to express myself. But I also paint, I write poetry, short stories, books. “I don’t define myself by this thing of being a rock star, which is fake by the way,” he continued. “There is no such thing as a rock star. I define myself by what I’m gonna do after I die. “No one’s going to be listening to MÖTLEY CRÜE g...
Legendary German hard rockers SCORPIONS have released the second fan-created music video for their latest single, “Sign Of Hope”. When the band first announced the project in June, it wrote in a social media post: “Show us your ‘signs’ of hope! We want to use our new music video as a platform to spread a little hope in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. Whether a photo or image of a blooming flower, your favorite summertime activity or you spending time with loved ones, we want to include your sign in our new ‘Sign Of Hope’ music video.” SCORPIONS penned the song as a positive message amid all that is going on in the world at the moment and during the recording sessions for their upcoming 19th album. Tentatively due in 2021, the disc will mark t...

The disc’s second single, “Aurora Borealis”, can be streamed below. “A View From The Inside” is described in a press release as “an album that showcases the dynamic talents of the guitar virtuoso, hard rock fans will be transported back to the days when giants like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani dominated the mainstream consciousness (and airwaves), while also simultaneously being shown a guitarist ever pushing himself forward into the future.” Beach is one of the indisputable guitar giants of the current hard rock scene. His resume with ’80s/’90s mega-stars WINGER...
Earlier today, Kumarion debuted his VIP edit of “Want It,” his 2020 hit that put the blossoming electronic music producer on the map. The edit is the first promotional release ahead of the Want It – Remixes EP, which celebrates one of the year’s top trap tracks and reanimates the excitement behind Kumarion. Born in Seattle, Kumarion’s music career took shape after becoming enraptured with the drum & bass genre in 2011. Exposed through the punk and reggae scenes, he found admiration in the culture as well as the chaotic styles of dub and jungle music. He began making dark, melodic music on his own, subsequently forging his current moniker, Kumarion, in 2015. “Want It” stole the show during the abrupt 2020 festival season, earning co-signs from Boombox Cartel,...
The long wait is over for new music from Rusko. Since dropping his Genghis Danger EP in 2019, the iconic dubstep trailblazer has been relatively silent. That changed today with Rusko’s Sauce EP, his debut on the Wakaan imprint. Sauce is Rusko through and through. The old school flavor that the producer is so well known for is apparent, as always, but so is his ability to keep things fresh. The EP is certainly a callback to classic dubstep, but has all of the forward-thinking elements that have constantly evolved the Rusko sound. “Carrot Cake” opens the release with dub reggae-infused wobbles in the classic Rusko style. Following it is “Ecstasy Dreamland,” a near-180 from the EP opener that lives up to its name with futuristic elements and chord stabs...
Biicla‘s short time in the dance music scene has been nothing short of excellent, to say the least. Earlier this year, he released his debut album No Place, as well as remixed Zeds Dead and DROELOE‘s “Stars Tonight.” Today, Biicla has tapped Rome in Silver for a haunting remix of “No Place.” Rome in Silver’s delicate touch is exactly what “No Place” needed. His remix feels like an extension of the original, chilling things out while still adding plenty of new elements. The vocal has been subdued and blended in with the faint piano chords and booming kicks while the drop has been completely transformed into an ethereal moment. Rome in Silver’s remix of “No Place” highlights the intricate qualities in the origi...

The Hold Steady’s fifth album, Heaven Is Whenever, is turning 10 this year. (Where has the time gone?) To mark the anniversary, the band announced a new double-LP reissue, out on Black Friday, Nov. 27. The Deluxe Edition, available on black vinyl and limited-edition colored vinyl, features nine rare or previously unreleased tracks, including the newly issued “Separate Vacations.” Listen below. Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers penned the liner notes, and here’s what he had to say about the record: “HEAVEN IS WHENEVER saw one of the most loved bands of this, then still-new century take a perceived stumble and face a small comeuppance. It happens. Many bands don’t survive it, much less come out the other side intact and possibly better than ever…A lesser band might have imploded....
