How Camilo Became TikTok’s Most-Followed Latin Artist

“Whenever he has an idea or before he posts something, he asks for my opinion,” she says. “Everything posted on TikTok is a team effort.” She says that they usually plan a dance challenge long before a single release, dedicating a day to think of the choreography with help from their friend Paula Macher, who has over 1 million TikTok followers herself. “[She] knows all the latest trends and popular dance moves,” says Evaluna. “In the end, it helps push the song we’re promoting.” Noel Nuez, TikTok’s director of operations for Spanish South America, believes that kind of collaboration has helped Camilo rake in new followers so quickly: “He’s surrounded by family and colleagues who are also well-integrated on TikTok themselves, which enables him to viralize across other top profiles and ...

This might sound bad but I don’t really set goals for myself. My motto is keep your expectations ...

Maroon 5’s ‘Nobody’s Love’ Remix Has an Unexpected Guest Feature: Listen

The original version of “Nobody’s Love” has so far charted at No. 41 on the Hot 100 after being released earlier this summer, and marks the pop act’s first single since the departure of original bassist Mickey Madden. The track follows the success of the band’s 2019 hit “Memories,” which peaked at No. 2 last September. Both songs are expected to be featured on the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled seventh studio album — itself a follow-up to 2017’s Red Pill Blues. Meanwhile, Popcaan’s fourth studio album, Fixtape, dropped in August featuring collaborations with Drake (“All I Need” and “Twist & Turn,” also featuring Partynextdoor), French Montana (“Murda” with Preme) and more. The danceh...

Elton John Shares ‘Here’s To the Next Time’ From Elton: Jewel Box

Elton John has just released two songs from his upcoming Elton: Jewel Box — one from his Rarities set and “Billy and the Kids” off the B-Sides. “Here’s to the Next Time” was recorded in DJM Studios in 1967 when he was still known as Reg Dwight. It was the B-side to John’s debut single, “I’ve Been Loving You.” [embedded content] He also shared “Billy and the Kids,” which is part of the B-Side record in Jewel Box. Recorded in 1986, it was released as a B-side, despite fans thinking that it should have been part of his 1986 album, Leather Jackets. Elton: Jewel Box will release on Nov. 13 via UMC/EMI. John previously released “Regimental Sgt. Zippo” as well as a collaboration with Gorillaz and 6lack, “The Pink Phantom.” And while concerts are still on the back burner this year, John annou...

Rosie Carney Releases Acoustic Cover of Radiohead’s ‘Bones’

When people think of covering Radiohead, one of the more reliable bets is their first hit, “Creep.” However, Rosie Carney has decided to take a different path: she’s covered “Bones,” from the band’s 1995 album, The Bends. Her acoustic version of the song is part of a bigger project where Carney will be covering all the tracks on The Bends, which is set to release on Dec. 11 via Color Study. “I recorded ‘Bones’ the day before I flew home to spend the rest of lockdown with my family in Ireland,” she said in a statement. “I listened to it nonstop as I travelled [sic] from my flat in London into the middle of nowhere. Every single line resonated with me on such a deep level and after this one I became far more confident in how I wanted the songs to sound if they were mine.” The new musical pro...

Carrion Lets Gamers Be the Monster This Halloween, Thanks to Legendary Composer Cris Velasco’s Score

With Halloween around the corner, there’s no shortage of monster-themed video games to dive into for the spookiest time of the year. But the games where you get to actually be the monster are far harder to come by. Sure, the asymmetric survival horror genre has become popular for multiplayer titles — allowing one gamer to play as an array of iconic villains while the others try to survive and escape — but there’s really only one title where you can jump into the shoes of an overpowered rampaging monster and clear out security guards, scientists, and anyone else who stands in your way: Carrion. Of course, a reverse horror game in which the amorphous tentacled murderer is actually the protagonist is going to require a slightly different development and creation approach than most other title...

Refused Announce The Malignant Fire EP, Unleash “Born on the Outs”: Stream

Swedish hardcore veterans Refused have announced a new EP, The Malignant Fire. In advance of its November 20th release, the band has unleashed the single “Born on the Outs”. The Malignant Fire will arrive roughly a year after Refused’s most recent full-length album, War Music. The new five-song collection features four new tracks and one War Music cut (“Malfire”). “Born on the Outs” has a post-punk vibe, with singer Dennis Lyxzén delivering clean vocals to start before escalating to his raspy howl. It’s as infectious as it aggressive, even delving into a melodic Sisters of Mercy-like bridge around the 2:10 mark. Lyrically, “Born on the Outs” continues the progressivism and radicalism of the band’s 30-year career, as Lyxzén rails against hate crimes, fascism, and oppression throug...

The Weeknd Officially Releases Saxy New “In Your Eyes” Remix Featuring Kenny G: Stream

The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” may be one of the best songs of 2020, but it’s the After Hours single “In Your Eyes” that’s extra sax-y — quite literally. Today, the R&B superstar has shared a new remix of “In Your Eyes” featuring the one and only saxophone legend Kenny G. The unlikely collaborators first debuted a version of this rework at last month’s TIME 100 event, where The Weeknd was honored as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020. While that live rendition saw Kenny G lend a silky instrumental outro, this official studio release of the remix features two additional solos from the jazz musician and Kanye West associate. We never would have guessed we’d be mentioning The Weeknd and Kenny G in the same breath — they each offer their own very different vision of “sexy mu...
