Lenny Kravitz has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, calling him “a pioneer and “an original” who made his mark on the electric guitar. Kravitz discussed the legendary VAN HALEN axeman during an appearance on Bravo‘s late-night, interactive talk show “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen”. Asked if he had a chance to work with Eddie and if he had an appreciation for the VAN HALEN guitarist, Lenny said (see video below): “Absolutely. I had a major appreciation. We never got to work together, but I got to meet him. I watched him play in concert on the side of the stage. We respected each other.” He continued: “[Eddie] is a pioneer. He is an original. And just as people like Jimi Hendrix made their mark on the electric guitar, Eddie Van H...
Almost two months ago, industrial metal heroes POWERMAN 5000 released their newest album, “The Noble Rot”, which both fans and critics have been hailing for its nostalgic vibe and a fine return to form for these music veterans. The album title itself reflects this as it borrows a term from the wine-making process of selecting those grapes that have been aged to achieve just the right level of “rot” to make the sweetest, most flavorful wine. And so it seems fitting that this long-running act has chosen this year to pluck one of its oldest and most celebrated songs from the vine for a fresh and invigorating new studio version. “When Worlds Collide” is perhaps the song most closely associated with POWERMAN 5000 ever since it became a monster hit on MTV in 1...

Speaking to the METALLICA fan-club magazine So What!, Hammett said: “I recorded those tracks with Edwin, a small chamber orchestra and some other musicians.” Adding that the songs “feel like the best fucking things I’ve ever done,” he said: “One of them is called ‘High Plains Drifter’ and the other one’s called ‘The Incantation’. They’re not done yet. [They are] sti...

Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon launched his “Visit With Vernon” voting initiative with his Eaux Claires last month to “talk thoughtfully about why voting matters” and in the second installment, where he sat with two new Milwaukee voters, he performed a new Big Red Machine song titled “Latterdays.” The singer-songwriter says the tune is “about what it’s going to feel like in the future when we look back and wonder if we did enough.” Big Red Machine is his side project with the National’s Aaron Dessner and he wrote this song with Dessner and Anais Mitchell. After a brief conversation, Vernon performed the tune on a Milwaukee rooftop for contest winners Vic and Mary Jane, who have different political opinions. Watch it below. In a spellbinding visual display, English electronic music group LZ7 have unveiled the official music video for their latest single, “Won’t Run Out.” The single, which follows the success of their 2019 album These Are The Days, arrived earlier in the month of October. The spellbinding video serves as a fantastic accompaniment to the single, which is a haunting house and pop hybrid. At a kinetic 128 BPM, “Won’t Run Out” strikes a more melodic chord than its rhythmic counterparts in the EDM world, most of which are rooted in club-oriented house music. Those mesmeric undercurrents are mirrored in the intoxicating music video, which LZ7 debuted today. Check out the “Won’t Run Out” video in full below. LZ7 brought all the stop...

After announcing Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You earlier this month, Apple TV+ has offered up the official trailer for the film. [embedded content] Directed by longtime Springsteen collaborator Thom Zimny, the documentary not only follows the recording process of Springsteen’s upcoming album and also serves as a tribute to the E Street Band, longtime Springsteen collaborators who played a significant role in the artist’s life. Ideas tumble around the room, confusion ofte...
