Ali went to her semi-annual muscular dystrophy-related doctor’s visit earlier this season on Teen Mom 2, and Dr. Tsao (a neuromuscular specialist who viewers have seen through the years) complimented Leah’s daughter on her strength. However, he remarked that she had “weakness in the upper legs.” And during tonight’s episode, Dr. Tsao’s feedback was on full display when the Simms twin hurt her foot after a fall while she was at her dad Corey’s house. Fast-forward a week later, and Ali was still in pain. “She didn’t say nothing about it all weekend,” Corey told Leah over the phone. “And then yesterday evening, like all of a sudden, she said it hurt.” Leah explained to her sister Victoria, who was in labor and about to we...
How did you begin acting? I started really young, acting in church plays. Every year for Christmas, the church youth would make a play, and I would perform in it. In middle school, I was really interested in taking acting classes, but I couldn’t afford to, so I waited until high school and joined a film and theater program that got defunded a few weeks after I joined. After that, I joined another nonprofit theater program in my school called Opening Act. I was performing off-broadway, creating plays at the end of every semester, and that’s how I met Katie [Cappiello], through one of the Opening Act students. Since then, I’ve been acting, doing theater, and touring plays around America for almost eight years. Now, I’m here. What was your first-ever audition like? My first big audition was f...
In the road toward the 2016 election, YG and Nipsey Hussle had the viral dis track, “FDT,” or “Fuck Donald Trump.” Now, with less than a month before Election Day 2020 and early voting already underway, pop superstar Demi Lovato has released her own protest song, “Commander in Chief.” And like the rappers before her, she doesn’t mince words. In the somber new track, which surprise-dropped Tuesday evening (October 13), Lovato takes aim at the president, referencing his response to the coronavirus pandemic, the fires that have ravaged the West Coast, and racial injustice in the United States. “Commander in Chief, honestly / If I did the things you do, I couldn’t sleep,” she sings on the refrain. “Seriously, do you ev...
After sharing new music and teasing activity, feature king Ty Dolla $ign will release his third album, the aptly-titled Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, on Oct. 23 via Atlantic. A new song titled “By Yourself” will feature Jhene Aiko and DJ Mustard. It follows “Ego Death” that featured Kanye West, fka Twigs and Skrillex, and more recently, “Expensive” with Nicki Minaj. He also appeared on SZA’s “Hit Different” as well. “I’ve been blessed with the gift of collaborating. Not every artist can collaborate with another artist and have the final product be something incredible. Many people have said that when you see a song that says, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, you know it’s gonna be fire. As humbled as I am when I hear that, I can’t say I disagree,” he said in a statement. Continuing, Dolla $ig...
BUCKCHERRY singer Josh Todd spoke to Ned of the Waterloo, Iowa radio station Rock 108 about how he and his bandmates have spent their downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said (hear audio below): “We had to do a lot of gear shifting, like everybody. We’ve done already over a handful of shows this year, but it’s not enough when this is your livelihood. So it’s been challenging — I can’t say that it’s been easy — but we shifted gears into making a new record, because, basically, this year was a wash; we were going to be touring a lot this year. The good news is we made a really great new BUCKCHERRY record. After we do these three shows [this month], we go in end of October. We’re flying to Nashville — we’re gonna do it in Nashville. And th...
RATING: 8.5/10 If you’re already feeling frustrated at being unable to attend live shows, wait until you hear IRONED OUT. Metallic hardcore has always been custom designed to get bodies moving and beers flying, but albums as explosive and individual as this one come along only once in a blood-splattered blue moon. With a collective pedigree that includes stints in several legendary UK hardcore bands (including the god-like KNUCKLEDUST), this London-based wrecking crew are not offering anything wildly revolutionary, but by infusing their breakdowns and beat-’em-ups with the gritty spirit of hip-hop and, in particular, UK grime as well as crafting songs that have hooks and heft, they’ve spawned something subtly new and unusually thrilling. After a bewitching, Sabbath-like i...
Ace Frehley spoke to “That Jamieson Show” about Bruce Kulick‘s guest appearance on “Origins Vol. 2”, the sequel to Ace‘s 2016 collection of cover songs that inspired the ex-KISS guitarist. “A lot of think I might not be friends with Bruce Kulick,” Ace said (see video below). I’ve been friends with Bruce for 20 years. I played a solo on ESP, their album, when he still had a band with Karl Cochran, my old guitar player, bass player. “Of all the guitar players that have taken my place in KISS, Bruce by far blows them all away, as far as I’m concerned. He’s definitely the best guitar player. “When Tommy [Thayer, current KISS guitarist] gets up there and does my solos, he tries to play ’em note for note, but he ...
Former GUNS N’ ROSES and current SIXX:A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba introduced his unique version of EDM to the world last summer with his debut single “Hypnotic”. Having creatively combined multiple genres with EDM into one unique sound, Ashba continues forging his journey into an exciting new genre with his second single, “Let’s Dance”, available on Friday, October 16. Mixed and mastered by three-time Grammy nominee Luca Pretolesi of Studio DMI (Steve Aoki, Diplo, Lil Jon), the track features James Michael, co-founder and lead singer of SIXX:A.M., which he and DJ formed with Nikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE). “On ‘Let’s Dance’, my goal was to create the perfect blend of rock and EDM by laying down the foundation with an infectious hardcore dan...
Experimental pop-electronica artist KUČKA has hit a sweet spot with her latest single, “Ascension.” Out today via LuckyMe, the track is a seamless blend of electronic synths, driving percussion rhythms, and silky vocals. The track tells its story through both its melodic progression and its companion music video, taking us through a dynamic dream world of hollowed-out sonics and cleverly arranged vocal chops. KUČKA’s clear, airy vocals are on full display, stealing the show with their lilting cadence and raw expressiveness. “’Ascension’ is about the continual growth that we are all undertaking at every stage of our life,” KUČKA said in a press release. “We’re constantly faced with new challenges, whether we realize it or not, and it...
At its core, A Hundred Drums’ music is meant to reverberate through the body and mind. This dynamic has been frayed without a live audience, but the bass-heavy act is ready to re-establish that connection via Sonder, a new EP crafted in the enchanting genre of lo-fi. The A Hundred Drums project began in 2006 and has connected heartbeats around the world through her evocative and seductive live sets. After dropping her self-titled debut LP in February, she’s managed to stay creative in a pandemic-wrought 2020. The blossoming electronic artist has released three singles (“19,” “Deception,” and “Bonded”) and was prominently featured on AfterShock, Deadbeats, and SummerEyes Festival livestream events. This new EP marks a remarkably different sonic direction for her. Sonder was ...
Dan Flint, drummer of prolific British band You Me at Six, is making an emphatic statement about the latticework of electronic and punk music. The band’s style is rooted in rock and punk, but electronic music courses through Flint’s veins, representing an unspoken yet powerful presence that pumps through the bedrock of his artistry. You Me at Six’s August 2020 single “MAKEMEFEELALIVE” was emblematic of the conjuring of that electronic spell, incorporating kinetic breakbeat influences and raucous drum & bass percussion. Flint has now doubled down on the track with a remix of his own, flipping it into a frenetic breakbeat bomb that moonlights as the genesis of a bona fide electronic music producer. You can listen to the remix below and find it...
