STEEL PANTHER singer Michael Starr has has reflected on the passing of QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali. Banali, who joined QUIET RIOT in 1982 and played on its breakthrough album, 1983’s “Metal Health”, the first heavy metal LP to top Billboard‘s album chart, died in August after a 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer. FEAR FACTORY Launches Fundraising Campaign For Long-Awaited New Album

FEAR FACTORY has launched a GoFundMe campaign for its long-awaited new album. The disc, which features Dino Cazares on guitar/bass, Burton C. Bell on vocals and Mike Heller on drums, is tentatively due in 2021 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The effort is being produced by Damien Rainaud and FEAR FACTORY and will be mixed by Andy Sneap. FEAR FACTORY‘s fundraising campaign marks the first public activity from the band since it completed a 2016 U.S. headlining tour on which it performed its classic second album, “Demanufacture”, in its entirety. Ronald “Khalis” Bell, Co-Founder Of Kool & The Gang, Dead At 68

Also known as Khalis Bayyan, the songwriter and composer founded the band alongside his brother, Robert “Kool” Bell. As reported by Billboard, Bell died suddenly Wednesday morning (Sept. 9) at his home in the U.S. Virgin Islands according to a statement issued by his publicist. The cause of death has not been shared publicly. Bell was born on Nov. 1, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio. After a brief stint in Long Island, N.Y., the family took residence in Jersey City, N.J. and connected with a group of friends influenced by jazz, soul, and funk.
