The 4,497-square-foot house includes a gallery, a center-island kitchen, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, five fireplaces and a three-car garage. During the question-and-answer portion of “An Evening With Tommy Thayer” in February at the Outtakes Bar & Grill in New Hope, Minnesota, Thayer was asked what his plans are for after KISS completes its “End Of The Road” farewell tour. He responded: “I get asked that question a lot in interviews these days. I don’t really know. I’m sure mo...

Stephen King’s The Stand Miniseries Unfolds In Exciting Comic-Con Trailer and Panel: Watch

Stephen King’s The Stand was on full display at New York Comic-Con. On Friday afternoon, CBS All Access’ highly anticipated miniseries adaptation took over the virtual convention with a star-studded panel that culminated in the reveal of a brand new full-length trailer. Unlike the teaser that dropped back in August, this trailer offers a true in-depth look at the apocalyptic epic. A few of the images should send a shiver down your spine, particularly as we deal with our own ensuing pandemic. We get shots of the principal characters, we get glimpses of the world-building at hand, and we see a ton of allusions to the original novel. If you weren’t hyped already, this should leave Constant Readers champing at the bit for December. Watch the trailer below. [embedded content] Hosted by Van...

New Joy Division and New Order Podcast to Feature Surviving Band Members, Bono, Damon Albarn, Jonny Greenwood, More

Mark those calendars because a new podcast focused on the origins of Joy Division and New Order is set to debut later this month. Transmissions: The Definitive Story will trace the story of the two iconic and closely linked bands — from Joy Division’s formation up until New Order’s release of the 1983 hit single “Blue Monday”. Of course, the tragic death of Ian Curtis in 1980, and the subsequent split Joy Division, will receive substantial coverage. Fittingly, this history will be told by those who actually lived it — surviving band members such as Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert. The pod will also feature interviews with special guest musicians like Damon Albarn, Radiohead’s Jonny and Colin Greenwood, U2’s Bono, Liam Gallagher, Johnny Marr, and Karen O. Add...

Green Lanterns (image via HBO Max) and Seth Grahame-Smith, photo courtesy of author In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil shall escape Seth Grahame-Smith’s sight! The author-turned screenwriter/producer will serve as showrunner on HBO Max’s forthcoming series based on DC Comics’ Green Lantern. Originally announced a year ago, the show has also received a straight-to-series 10 episode order. Graham-Smith (IT producer, The LEGO Batman Movie writer) will co-write the first of those shows alongside Marc Guggenheim, the co-creator of The CW’s Arrowverse. Guggenheim previously co-wrote the failed 2011 Green Lantern movie with Greg Berlanti, who also returns for the TV adaption as producer. But who’s behind the series is perhaps less interesting to fans than who’s in it. The Green Lanterns ...

Freaky Expertly Balances Horror and Humor for a Hell of a Good Time: Beyond Fest Review

The Pitch: Millie Kessler (Kathryn Newton) is a year removed from her father’s death and her family is still grieving. While her sister Char has fittingly taken the role of matriarch, appropriate considering her career in the police force, her mother has taken to the bottle. It’s also senior year for Millie at Blissville High and things aren’t particularly promising; the boy she likes doesn’t seem interested, she’s constantly picked on by teachers and students alike, and she’s anxious at the idea of leaving her mom behind. Keeping her grounded are best friends Josh (Misha Osherovich) and Nyla (Celeste O’Connor). Things take a very sudden turn, however, when she’s attacked by the legendary Blissfield Butcher (Vince Vaughn) with a mystical knife that has them swap bodies. Now, she has 24 hou...

Here Are the Lyrics to Kane Brown’s ‘Be Like That,’ Feat. Swae Lee & Khalid

Kane Brown tapped Swae Lee and Khalid to sing about how relationships can “Be Like That” sometimes with all the fighting followed by kissing and making up. In an interview with Billboard in August, Brown talked about how he instantly fell in love with the song and how the three came together on it. “[With] Swae Lee, the writers on it were good friends with him, so they bought him in… I was like, this has got a Khalid vibe, we gotta bring him in,” he said. “It’s rare that you hear a song from writers and you immediately say, ‘Bro, you gotta play that again.’ And then you leave the tour bus and you do your show and you come back and say, ‘Hey, play that song you played for me earlier.'” You Deserve...

Cardi B Shares Birthday Billboard From Kulture & a Mysterious ‘Sir’

While the “Bodak Yellow” star did not specify who bought the billboard for her, fans in the comments believe that the gift came from Offset. Cardi filed for divorce from Offset on in September after a three year marriage, according to the Fulton County Magistrate in Georgia. Their hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. If the speculation is true, and Offset was the “sir” behind the billboard, this wouldn’t be the first time the Migos rapper did something grand to win back Cardi. After the duo split in 2018, he crashed her headlining set at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles. Offset showed up with a lavish floral arrangement that read “TAKE ME BACK, CARDI,” a gesture that didn’t go over so well. He and his flowers were removed...

Jay-Z Posts Bond & Pays Fines for Alvin Cole’s Mother & Other Wisconsin Protesters

Alvin Cole was killed on Feb. 2 by Wauwatosa police officer Joseph Mensah, less than three minutes after police began to chase him through the parking lot of Mayfair mall. Back in June, when the music industry took a pause to reflect on Black Out Tuesday, Jay-Z and Team Roc took out full-page newspaper ads across the nation honoring George Floyd. The ads featured a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from a speech in Selma, Alabama, in 1965. The ad was signed by Jay, as well as the families of those who’ve lost sons to police violence (including Botham Jean, DJ Henry, Terence Crutcher and Antwon Rose II), activists (Van Jones), attorneys (National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer, Benjamin Crump, Innocence Project), radio host Charlamagne That Go...

Justin Hawkes—formerly Flite—Kicks Off New Chapter With “Lift Off The Roof”

In July 2020, a small controversy began over Flite‘s stage name, as many claimed it was derivative of DJ Flight, an instrumental figure in the rise of the UK drum & bass scene. Some original junglists and drum & bass heads felt that Flite’s name was a piggy-back off of DJ Flight and her work over the last 20-plus years.  As Flite built up his following and led the charge for the Stateside drum & bass movement, listeners worldwide began to take notice of his sound, but some took issue with him having a name so similar to that of DJ Flight. Though Flite had no intention to cause confusion, and chose his stage name before knowing who DJ Flight was, he respectfully relinquished his former moniker and reemerged as Justin Hawkes.  Now, Justin Hawkes...

Listen to Papa Khan’s “Rain,” a Masterstroke of Bass Music Production

Future riddim, dubstep, future bass—whatever you want to call it, there’s no doubt that Papa Khan‘s new single “Rain” is in a league of its own. “Rain” found a home on Marshmello‘s JoyTime Collective banner, and it is an absolutely perfect fit. Emblematic of a star in the making, the track is a masterclass in bass music sound design. The Indonesian prodigy introduces spacey pads off the bat, using the enchanting nature of the verse to effortlessly build into the first drop. That’s when he goes haywire, unloading a stunning drop with lush, frenetic synths and fluttering arpeggios. It’s the way Papa Khan syncopates those synths, however, that elevates his sound design into the realm of extraordinary. His quirky yet brilliant syn...
