Killer Mike Explains Why He Met with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on Kimmel

When Killer Mike met with Georgia governor Brian Kemp last month, and later welcomed the Republican politician for a haircut at one of his barber shops, it raised some eyebrows. During a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday, the Run the Jewels rapper explained his motives for the meeting. “People were upset, and now I don’t understand because when you pay taxes in this municipality — including city, state and county — you should want to meet with your county officials,” he said. “[My grandmother] and grandfather were really sure to raise me to be a responsible member of the community, and that responsibility is not just about taking care of your own yard, taking care of bigger community,” the activist continued. “So I think you should meet with elected officials, and I had the opport...

Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper (photo by Philip Cosores), Robert Glasper (photo by Todd Copper) Over the summer, Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and 9th Wonder cooked up their self-titled debut album as Dinner Party. But the jazz-funk supergroup isn’t quite done feasting: Dinner Party are back at the table to serve up a new dish titled Dessert. As its name suggests, this project is closely tied to the tasty meal that was Dinner Party; it features all seven tracks of that first album, but reworked with the help of new guest “chefs” Snoop Dogg, Herbie Hancock, Bilal, Tank and the Bangas, Cordae, and Rapsody. Buddy, Punch, and Alex Isley also jump in the musical kitchen to lend a helping hand. Phoelix, who sang on the original debut LP, still has vocals throu...

Broadway Extends Shutdown Through Spring 2021

Broadway has been entirely shut down since March 12th of this year, and it doesn’t look like the lights will be coming back up anytime soon. Today, it was announced the iconic theater district will remain shuttered well into 2021. The Broadway League, a trade association of producers and theater owners, announced that they’re officially suspending all ticket sales for New York City productions until May 30th of next year. However, the League’s president, Charlotte St. Martin, expressed skepticism that the city’s 41 theaters will even be operating by the summer. “Certainly a lot of shows are making their plans, and some think we will open in the summer, and I hope they are right,” she said in an interview with the New York Times. “But I think people’s bets are the fall of next year.” An add...

Killer Be Killed Unveil New Song “Dream Gone Bad”: Stream

Supergroup Killer Be Killed are readying the release of their new album, Reluctant Hero, due out on November 20th. The band has now shared the music video for the latest single, “Dream Gone Bad”. Killer Be Killed touts one of the strongest lineups of any heavy metal supergroup in recent memory: vocalist Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan; Soulfly and ex-Sepultura leader Max Cavalera; Mastodon singer-bassist Troy Sanders; and Converge drummer Ben Koller. Not surprisingly, its makes for a crushing collaboration on “Dream Gone Bad” as propulsive guitars give way to epic vocals. Sanders handles most of the singing on this track. Mastodon fans take note. “Dissecting the idea of uncertainty and how you pull from that to find your way,” Sanders said in a press release. “‘Dream Gone Bad’ wa...

Jeff Goldblum Recreates Iconic Jurassic Park Pose 27 Years Later

Jurassic World: Dominion may have been pushed back to 2022, but Jeff Goldblum has given thirsty fans quite the gift to tide them over until then. On Instagram late Friday, the actor recreated his iconic Jurassic Park pose, unbuttoned shirt, oiled up chest, and all. Goldblum reproduced the memorable 1993 shot as a reward to fans who registered to vote ahead of Election Day next month. “WOW! Thank you to everyone who used my @HeadCount page to make sure that you’re #GoodToVote!” Goldblum wrote on Instagram. “Nearly 3,000 of you are ready for this November’s election. Here’s your reward… how time flies.” Indeed, it’s been 27 long years since Dr. Ian Malcolm first posed ever so seductively. The fact that Goldblum, who turns 68 in just a few weeks, still looks this good should probably be a cri...

Stripper Denies Wild Threesome With ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Star Porsha Williams

Source: Image Source / Getty Earlier this week, news broke of an alleged incident at The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey’s bachelorette party in South Carolina. A stripper was said by sources to have gotten in on with RHOA co-stars Porsha Williams and Tanya Sam but the man in question says the wild threesome never happened. Page Six broke the news of the alleged threesome this past Wednesday (Oct. 7), writing that a source who overheard the act while attending Bailey’s event.  The source said that there was a lot of drinking taking place with some women making out with each other and that film crews on site captured some of the steamy action. However, the source told the outlet that it got freaky in the wee hours of the morning. “[I was] hearing all these noises, sex ta...

Reebok Bringing Back The OG “Kamikaze II”

Source: Jerritt Clark / Getty Michael Jordan‘s Jumpman logo is probably the most famous image of a slam dunk in progress around the world.  But, the Seattle Supersonics’ Shawn Kemp was a rim rockin’ beast himself during the Jordan era, and now Reebok is bringing back one of Kemp’s most popular silhouettes, The Kamikaze II. According to Hypebeast, Reebok will be bringing back the classic 1990s sneaker later in October and will be joining a few re-releases of the era such as the Shaquille O’Neal-worn “Shaqnosis” and Allen Iverson-sponsored “Question Mid” models. We’re lowkey surprised they waited this long to retro all these classics. Though the sneakers will remain the same as it’s OG version, Reebok is making an unexpected change that no one really saw coming. From Reebok: As mentione...

Sen. Lindsey Graham Says Black People Can Go Anywhere In South Carolina If They’re Conservative

Source: KEN CEDENO / Getty A hotly contested battle for a U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina is underway, with longtime Republican incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham set to square off against Democratic challenger Jamie Harrison. During a Friday night debate event, Sen. Graham said that Black residents and immigrants can “go anywhere” in the state as long as their political ideologies shift towards being conservative. Because Sen. Graham rejected Harrison’s request that he take a coronavirus test ahead of the debate. With Harrison refusing to be in the same place as his opponent, the format of the faceoff shifted to a forum style question and answer session instead and hosted by local outlet News 19 WLTX. While on location in Spartansburg, S.C., both Graham and Harrison were given 30 minut...

Miley Cyrus Performs ‘Midnight Sky’ Amongst ‘a Million Mileys’ on Graham Norton

Since releasing her latest single “Midnight Sky” in August, Miley Cyrus has made the rounds, performing the song virtually on talk shows, at festivals, and award ceremonies. There’s only so much you can do when working remotely, so when recording her set for Graham Norton, the pop star decided to create her “dream world but everyone else’s nightmare.” Before her performance aired, the pop star chatted with the British talk show host virtually (the show is back in-studio; however, since Cyrus is U.S.-based she wasn’t able to be there in person) about her set and creativity in the COVID era. “I did want to create something special for you and your show, because I always love being there,” she said. “It may sound egotistical. I created a set which is just a million Mileys, which is ...

Former VAN HALEN members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen on Thursday (October 8) at Hagar‘s annual birthday bash, which was moved to Catalina Island in California due to the coronavirus pandemic. Prior to launching into a rendition of the VAN HALEN classic “Right Now” with the rest of THE CIRCLE band, Hagar led the audience in a moment of silence as they stood quietly for 20 seconds in memory of the late guitarist, who died on on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65 following a long cancer battle. “We’re about to do a very special song that means a lot to Michael Anthony and myself,” Sammy told the crowd. “So I would like to ask for just a quick moment of silence, please.
