In his unwavering mission to celebrate peace, love, and life, Sir Ivan is also directing all net proceeds from “Get Together” to The Peaceman Foundation, a charitable organization he developed to raise awareness and help those who suffer from PTSD. YoungBoy Never Broke Again Unveils New Album TOP: Stream

YoungBoy Never Broke Again, aka NBA YoungBoy, has unveiled his new album TOP. Stream it below via Apple Music and Spotify. This new project is technically the Baton Rouge rapper’s second proper full-length album after 2018’s Until Death Call My Name, however, it follows a very long list of EPs, mixtapes, and collaborative projects. In fact, it’s YoungBoy’s third release in 2020 alone, coming just months after the ‘tapes Still Flexin, Still Steppin and 38 Baby 2, shared in February and April, respectively. In keeping with this prolific nature, the 20-year-old has teased TOP with six singles: “Callin” feat. James Blake Releases Studio Cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed”: Stream

Earlier in the year, James Blake shared an intimate piano performance of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” on Instagram. Today, he’s released an official studio version of his cover. Blake is extremely familiar with the Blonde cut, considering he provided both production and arrangement for the track. He’s also been known to whip out his solo version during live shows. But he’s done something an extra special for this official version: He’s actually dyed his hair platinum blonde, so now he’s a blonde playing Blonde. Obviously, his take is very faithful to the one Ocean recorded, only without the studio flourishes. It’s as sparse and evocative as ever, though, as you can hear below, followed by the Blonde rendition for comparison’s sake. Via his Instagram, Blake has delivered a number of other ...

The Flaming Lips Return to Earth on Devastatingly Beautiful American Head: Review

The Lowdown: Looking back now, it feels safe to say that the ’10s represent something of a lost decade in the long, strange journey of The Flaming Lips. After ushering in the new millennium with a pair of unlikely mid-career classics (1999’s The Soft Bulletin and 2002’s Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots) and closing out the ’00s with unexpectedly muscular rock fanfare (2009’s Embryonic), Wayne Coyne and his merrymakers spent most of the next 10 years getting into tabloid feuds, recording scattershot side projects, and cosplaying as Miley Cyrus’ acid-casualty uncles. The Flaming Lips records they did manage felt like dispatches relayed from a derelict space station, about sonic landscapes too grim (2013’s The Terror) or fried (2017’s Oczy Mlody) or daft (2019’s The King’s Mouth) to warrant re...

DEE SNIDER Defends His ‘Aggressive And Intense’ Approach With ‘Idiot TRUMP Followers’: ‘I’m Trying To Lead By Example’

Dee Snider has defended his “aggressive and intense” approach in dealing with “idiot Trump followers” on social media, saying that he is “trying to lead by example.” The TWISTED SISTER frontman, who got to know President Donald Trump personally after appearing more than once on “The Celebrity Apprentice”, has been an outspoken critic of America’s 45th president, tweeting incessantly against Trump‘s administration and blasting the billionaire real estate mogul as “a commie-loving traitor” who is prostituting our democracy. He has also engaged in heated Twitter fights with Trump followers, some of whom have taken issue with his colorful delivery and unapologetic tone. Earlier today, Snider took to Twitter to write: ̶...

LARS ULRICH Is ‘Not Sold On The Idea’ Of A METALLICA Biopic

In a new interview with Collider, Lars Ulrich was asked whom he would like to see play him in a hypothetical METALLICA biopic. He laughed and said: “Yeah, well, they’d need a five-foot-seven, small, balding… I mean, we sort of joke about this all the time. We used to have kind of the standard answer back in the day, just because you’d get asked that every three months in interviews. James Spader would play me, the Cowardly Lion from ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ would play [James] Hetfield, and we’d joke about how Carlos Santana would play Kirk [Hammett]. We had all kinds of fun, but the question would beckon, what time period are we talking? Is it METALLICA in their youthful times, or now? There’s so many incredibly talented people out there, and it’s ...

MEGADETH’s DAVID ELLEFSON On DAVE MUSTAINE Allowing Him To Pursue Other Projects: ‘There’s A Trust Thing There’

In a new interview with the “Shockwaves” podcast, MEGADETH‘s David Ellefson spoke about the fact that Dave Mustaine has seemingly been supportive of the bassist pursuing a number of business ventures outside of the band, including running a record label, launching a line of coffee, producing a horror film, writing books and releasing his first solo album. “He knows I’m here,” Ellefson explained. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m back. MEGADETH is my home. And there’s a trust thing there. It’s not like I’ve got a wandering eye and I’m out looking to find a new home. It’s, like, no, I’m home. This is it. This is what we do until the end of MEGADETH. This is what we do. But in the meantime, there have been so...

DISTURBED Releases Cover Of STING’s ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith In You’ (Video)

DISTURBED has released a cover version of Sting‘s 1993 single “If I Ever Lose My Faith In You”. The official music video for the track, directed by Matt Mahurin, can be seen below. Said the band about the new cover: “We have loved this song for a long time, and even though it was released in 1993, it seems strangely applicable to today’s world. The song is about losing faith, and might initially sound pessimistic, but it’s about the importance and power of personal relationships, and how they can save you and provide solace in an increasingly confusing world.” DISTURBED had great commercial success with its last cover, an orchestral treatment of SIMON AND GARFUNKEL‘s 1964 song “The Sound Of Silence”, which appeared on 2015’s...

It’s the championing theme of “What Makes a Woman,” which she wrote for her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom. The Smile singer announced the birth of her firstborn on Aug. 27, just one day be...

Department of Justice Argues TikTok Employee Can’t Stop Trump’s ByteDance Ban

The Department of Justice argues a TikTok employee’s fear that the executive order banning transactions with Beijing-based parent ByteDance will keep him from getting paid isn’t enough to warrant a temporary restraining order that would keep the Department of Commerce from enforcing it. President Donald Trump on Aug. 6 issued an order that would bar “any transaction by any person” with ByteDance or any of its subsidiaries. TikTok on Aug. 24 sued, arguing its due process and first amendment rights were being violated. The same day, a technical program manager named Patrick Ryan sued Trump and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross Jr. arguing that the vaguely worded ban on transactions between U.S. persons and ByteDance could mean that he can’t get paid. Earlie...

Kelsea Ballerini’s Quarantine Album ‘Ballerini’ Is Here: Stream It Now

The pandemic hasn’t slowed Kelsea Ballerini. The two-time Grammy nominated artist released Kelsea back in March, a full-length album that peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Today sees the arrival of Ballerini, the unplugged follow-up and companion album to Kelsea. For the new album, the country star returned to all 13 tracks and viewed them through the lens of lockdown. They were deconstructed, reinterpreted and re-recorded during quarantine, this time stripped back to raw emotions. Of the projects, Ballerini explains: “Kelsea is glitter: bold and effervescent and dreams that are boundless. She’s who I want to be. While Ballerini is emotional, vulnerable, soft: observes her surroundings and chooses her words carefully. She’s who I am.” The new album features the previously released “cl...
