Source: Mercedes Benz AG / Mercedes Benz AG In what is arguably his most out the box collaboration the Chicago native has partnered up with Mercedes-Benz for a very unique take one of their most beloved models. The creative has redesigned their Geländewagen SUV in honor of the Nobu Malibu location in California. Virgil and Mercedes Chief Creative Director Gorden Wagene detailed the effort with the G-Class silhouette in High Snobiety. Abloh explained the car’s distinct scheme in his signature wax poetic delivery. “It shows that luxury doesn’t have to conform to ways of the past. It shows that design can show a new personality” he said. “Our partn...

For the past few weeks it seems like Harlem’s hardest representative of 2020, Dave East, has been dropping a new visual or two on a weekly basis and just when it seemed like he was going to take 7 days off, he goes and drops more work off. Linking up with Doe Boy for the visuals to “Said What I Said,” Dave East hits the streets armed with a bottle and a blunt to get lit while kicking it with Doe and their peoples. Speaking of grinding hard, Benny The Butcher seems to be one of the most active rappers in the game as well and for Freddie Gibb’s clip to “Frank Lucas” hits the water to politic on a boat with some bikini clad babes chugging on some bubbly. Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Cordae featuring Roddy Ricch, Armani Caesar featuring Benny The Butcher (told ya he ...
Source: Cindy Ord / Getty Lupita Nyong’o took to social media to share a heartfelt post about the passing of her Black Panther co-star Chadwick Boseman. In her first public words following his death, Nyong’o took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the death of Boseman, who passed away last month at the age of 43 from colon cancer. “I write these words from a place of hopelessness, to honor a man who had great hope,” Lupita Nyong’o wrote. “I am struggling to think and speak about my friend, Chadwick Boseman, in the past tense. It doesn’t make sense. The news of his passing is a punch to my gut every morning.” While Nyong’o notes that she understands that Boseman was human, much like the rest of us, she couldn’t fathom why the world didn’t have more time with the iconic actor, bef...

The Avalanches have announced their first new album in four years, We Will Always Love You. The group shared the cover art by Jonathan Zawada and promised more details “soon.” The plunderphonic pioneers have been teasing the follow-up to 2016’s Wildflowers since last September. Ace Frehley insists he doesn’t like to talk about politics, but the former KISS guitarist has gone ahead and talked about politics. In a new interview, he declared President Trump “the strongest leader that we’ve got on the table.” While speaking on The Cassius Morris Show, the guitar legend remarked, “I don’t think politics and rock ‘n’ roll mix — in my opinion. And I try to stay away from that as much as I can. I mean, once in a while, I’ll make a crack. I will say I’m a Trump supporter.” He added, “All the politicians have had skeletons in the closet. But I think Trump is the strongest leader that we’ve got on the table.” Frehley’s comments don’t come as a major surprise. He previously said during a 2018 appearance on the Juliet: Unexpected podcast, “Let me say this about Trump. Whether...
On September 25th, electropop duo Sylvan Esso will let loose their third studio album, Free Love. The follow-up to 2017’s What Now is being teased today with a new single dubbed “Frequency”, as well as its video directed by friend and fellow musician Moses Sumney. Here, Amelia Meath’s vocals roll gingerly over the track’s glitchy blips and beeps, rising and falling like a frequency wave. She sings about being irresistibly drawn to someone’s energy field, to the point that she’d like to be a part of it, too. This abstract idea is visualized pretty literally in Sumney’s corresponding clip. In it, a soaked Meath is seen dancing alone outside on a suburban lawn. Slowly but surely, though, more and more people — a delivery person, golfer, neighbor, etc. — are pulled into her orbit and join her ...
