October 23rd is an exciting day for Bruce Springsteen fans. In addition to releasing his new album Letter to You that day, The Boss will unveil a companion Apple TV+ documentary. Produced by Apple Original Films, Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You promises full song performances, in-studio footage, archival goodies, and a Springsteen-led look into the meaning of his new album. The iconic rocker wrote, directed, and served as executive producer on the project, with help from longtime collaborator and Springsteen On Broadway director Thom Zimny. In many ways, the documentary is also a celebration of Springsteen’s longstanding creative relationship with the E Street Band. Notably, the Letter to You album is the first project he’s released with the belove backing band follow...

HBO has crowned the king of its upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paddy Considine will play King Viserys Targaryen. Considine most recently played ex-con Claude Bolton in HBO’s excellent Stephen King mini-series The Outsider. He’s also known for his roles in The Death of Stalin, Peaky Blinders, Hot Fuzz, and more. Now, after an extensive casting search, HBO has tapped Considine to topline its next major title. He will portray Viserys Targaryen — the successor to the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, as chosen by the lords of Westeros — at the Great Council at Harrenhal. “A warm, kind and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for ...
Mustang, Oklahoma is about 85 percent white and was only slightly less so a couple of decades ago, when, as a young child, Bartees Cox Jr. traveled around the state with his family, singing in operas and churches. On his debut album, Live Forever, Bartees Strange pays slight homage to his past with “Mustang,” with that feeling of needing to flee your hometown—cosmic synths, a hook yelped with scrunched eyelids, an outro that drives like a Charger on a clear highway. It’s a paradox that Bartees can’t escape whiteness in the music he creates as a Black man. It’s already part of whatever artistic turn Bartees makes, whether it’s the erasure of Black artists’ contributions to indie rock, or the existential crisis Black rappers face when they must entertain largely white crowds. It’s a lo...

Source: Neilson Barnard / Getty One of Kanye West’s most recent antics is not sitting well with the self proclaimed greatest of all time. LL Cool J is making it clear Ye needs to put more respect on the brand he help build. As spotted on Page Six Ladies Love Cool James made a recent appearance on the Desus & Mero show. While the trio discussed a myriad of topics the Bronx media personalities made it a point to get the “I Need Love” MC to touch on Kanye’s blatant disrespect of his Grammy Award. “With all due respect, I think Kanye should just — maybe he should just piss in a Yeezy or something instead of pissing on a Grammy,” he said. “Piss in a pair of one them Yeezys, B. I felt some kind of way about that sh*t. I didn’t love that sh*t, because I’ve been with the Grammys for ...
