tapecut Arrives on UZ’s Quality Goods Records With Fresh “Pentrat” EP

Having been on the radar of UZ and his Quality Goods Records since 2016, tapecut is finally coming to the label with his first full release, dropping a menacing 4-track EP called Pentrat. The Russian producer has been homing his craft for some time now after starting to get involved with electronic music at the age of 17. Prestigious labels such as Mad Decent, Buygore and Fool’s Gold have been drawn in by his aggressive productions, which have also been taking live sets by storm, most notably being played out by the likes of UZ, Noisia and Fabian Mazur. Pentrat brings together all the qualities that make tapecut’s music so unique: filthy, experimental bass drops and heavenly melodic breaks. “Beast” opens up the project with an ominous intro and gritty brass stabs that explode in...

Guess who’s back, back again?  15-year-old Moore Kismet has returned with their third release in just under two months, titled “Beauty Is A Facade.” The track, released by Bassrush, is an ode to body positivity and self-acceptance, blending trap with hard-hitting synths to make a single that is truly one-of-a-kind.  “Beauty Is A Facade” starts off with subtlety, arranging wind chimes, vocal swells and a slow-growing percussion line to set a dreamy, mysterious mood. In classic Moore Kismet fashion, the single slowly progresses into a smashing trap drop full of whirring synths and thudnerous bass punches. It pulls in vocal samples, driving snares and dramatic transitions to place it stylistically right in line with its preceding release, “Drift&#...

SUPERJOINT‘s latest album, “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application”, came out in November 2016 via singer Philip Anselmo‘s Housecore record label. Since then, Anselmo and Taylor have focused primarily on Anselmo‘s PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS solo project, which released its second album, “Choosing Mental Illness As A Virtue”, last year. Speaking to the “Not These Two Fucking Guys” podcast about SUPERJOINT, Taylor said (hear audio below): “I think the response [to ‘Caught Up In The Gears Of Application’] was a little less than expected, maybe. I don’t know if the record did as well ...

I know it’s about three years completely [sober] — without one drop.” Asked how he finally managed to quit drinking, Phil said: “I just thought that all them years was enough, really. It took me 10 years to actually try and stop completely, but I did it. I just got bored with it in the end. And I didn’t have hangovers anyways. LACUNA COIL singer Andrea Ferro spoke to “Party Time Excellent”, the Internet video podcast hosted by Elena “Lena Scissorhands” Cataraga of the Moldovan extreme metal outfit INFECTED RAIN, about how he and his bandmates have been spending their coronavirus downtime. He said (see video below): “We’ve done a little bit of everything. We’ve been trying to keep busy, although there wasn’t much you could do more than Zoom meetings with promoters and management. And even between the band, we couldn’t see each other for a little bit when the situation was more heavy. Everybody has taken a little break. I think Cristina [Scabbia, LACUNA COIL frontwoman] did a lot of video gaming and fitness. And she got in very good shape, actually, because of ...

Chris Cornell’s Cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience” Hits No. 1 on Mainstream Rock Chart

More than three years after his tragic death, Chris Cornell’s soaring voice continues to resonate with music fans. His posthumously released cover of the Guns N’ Roses classic “Patience” has just reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Cornell’s take on the GN’R ballad was released by his family on July 20th, in commemoration of what would have been the late rocker’s 56th birthday. The Soundgarden frontman recorded the song prior to his death in 2017 but it was never released. “His birthday seemed the perfect time to share this and celebrate Chris, his voice, music, stories and art,” his family stated at the time of the song’s release. “It is true a man is not dead while his name is still spoken… and, through his art, an artist’s soul still burns just as bright as ever up...

Alright, alright, alright! The cast of Dazed and Confused is reuniting as part of a “get-out-the-vote” fundraiser in Texas. To ensure voters in the Lone Star state get to the polls November 3rd, original cast members like Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, and Parker Posey will reconvene on October 11th for a one-time virtual table reading of Richard Linklater’s classic 1993 film. Actors Joey Lauren Adams, Jason London, Adam Goldberg, Anthony Rapp, Rory Cochrane, and Marissa Ribisi are also expected to participate, as will Cole Hauser, Esteban Powell, Deena Martin, Christine Harnos, and Wiley Wiggins, among others.
