Citing COVID-19 concerns, Bonnaroo postponed its in-person March dates and pushed them to September 2020 before abandoning them altogether and announcing its 2021 edition in June. The 2020 event was set to feature Flume, Seven Lions, REZZ, Wooli, SVDDENDEATH, Ekali, and Subtronics, among other major artists in EDM. Next year’s iteration of Bonnaroo marks the fest’s 20th anniversary. Organizers took to social media to share the new dates. “The original dates for Bonnaroo 2021 have changed. Pretty Lights Wipes His Instagram, Sparking Rumors of New Music

What does Pretty Lights have up his sleeve? The renowned multi-instrumentalist and DJ has wiped his Instagram account, leading many to believe he may have new music to promote. Pretty Lights, who continues to be one of the most prolific artists in electronic music despite a lengthy hiatus from the scene, hasn’t released a full album since 2013’s A Color Map of the Sun and its b-side, The Hidden Shades. He has treated fans to a few singles since, like “Only Yesterday” and “Rainbows & Waterfalls, but for the most part, he has remained dormant. It’s important to note that this news is—by no means—a firm confirmation of new Pretty Lights music on the horizon. However, such a move does indicate that a big announcement may be looming. W...

For Young Journalists Covering The Trump Era, A Reckoning — And New Hope

By De Elizabeth On November 8, 2016, Donald Trump’s unexpected presidential victory generated a series of questions for Sydney Greene. At the time, she was the vice president of the National Association of Black Journalists at Arizona State University, where she spent Election Day covering her classmates’ viewing parties. And while the night started off “electric” with the seeming promise of a historic Hillary Clinton win, by the time Trump was giving his victory speech, Greene felt a numbness take over. “What does this mean for me as a Black person in America?” Greene, now 24, recounts in a phone interview with MTV News. “What does this mean as a woman in America? What does this mean for the communities that I love? And, in the next breath, what does this mean for me as a journalist?” Cou...

Demi Lovato Is Sifting Through Heartbreak On New Song ‘Still Have Me’

Last week, the surprising news came out that Demi Lovato and her fiancé of two months Max Ehrich had ended their engagement. The two had gotten together in March, around the time quarantine began, and after Ehrich proposed in July in Malibu, the two shared adorable beach photos expressing their excitement. But whatever the reason for their split, Lovato hasn’t directly weighed in — until now. Sort of. On a new single titled “Still Have Me,” Lovato sings her own praises, acknowledging that things may be “a mess” she may be “still broken,” but, as the chorus reminds, “I don’t have much but at least I still have me.” Over an electric yet subdued piano rhythm, Lovato sings her heart out on “Still Have Me,” and whether it&#...

ROB HALFORD Reveals JUDAS PRIEST Song He Wants To Perform With LADY GAGA

JUDAS PRIEST‘s Rob Halford says that he already knows which songs he would want to perform with Lady Gaga if he was to ever share the stage with the pop superstar. “I would definitely do ‘Born This Way’ because that’s our anthem,” he told People, referring to the LGBTQ community. “As far as PRIEST songs go, I think I’d like to do ‘Breaking The Law’ with her because it talks about the frustration that we go through, particularly as young people. ‘You don’t know what it’s like, you haven’t got a clue. You’d do the same thing too. Breaking the law.'” Halford told People that he “instantly knew” Lady Gaga “was going to be gigantic as an artist” when he first discovered her mu...
