Final Season of Schitt’s Creek Coming to Netflix in October

It’s a week of all the best news for Schitt’s Creek and its fans. Less than 24 hours after the modern comedy classic completed a history-making sweep of the Emmys, we at last know when the show’s sixth and final season will be hitting Netflix: October 7th. Schitt’s Creek originally ran on Canada’s CBC Television beginning in 2015, but the only way to watch it in the US was on the Pop TV pay channel or buying seasons on Amazon. It wasn’t until the Netflix began hosting past seasons in 2017 that the series entered the US cultural consciousness, leading to a huge spike in popularity. That popularity culminated in a string of historic wins at Sunday night’s 2020 Emmy Awards. Schitt’s Creek took home every single award in the comedy series categories — the first time the feat has ever been acco...

What’s Coming to Hulu in October 2020

Hulu is bringing the tricks and treats for October 2020 — or rather “Huluween”. When it comes to originals, the streaming service is in full supply with the debut season of Monsterland, Clive Barker’s Books of Blood anthology film, and the highly anticipated premiere of new horror comedy Bad Hair. Also exciting is the glutton’s worth of essential horror rentals, including Interview with the Vampire, Deep Blue Sea, Hostel I and II, House of 1000 Corpses, Martyrs, Fallen, and the entire Blade trilogy. Vamp it up! Of course, if horror ain’t your thing, there’s also the addition of last year’s underrated Terminator: Dark Fate, Will Ferrell’s incredibly underrated comedy Kicking and Screaming, and the equally underrated Wayne’s World 2. The Sword Guitarist Says Metallica’s Kirk Hammett Had the Best Weed Ever

The Sword’s Kyle Shutt (photo by Jack Thompson) / Metallica’s Kirk Hammett (photo by Raymond Ahner) Back in 2008, Metallica and The Sword teamed up for the “World Magnetic Tour”. Somewhere along the way, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett offered The Sword’s Kyle Shutt some weed, and according to the guitarist, it’s the best he’s ever had. With Shutt playing guitar in one of the most renowned stoner metal bands, Metal Injection put the question to Shutt: Of the artists who’ve smoked him up, who had the best weed? Shutt answered immediately: “Kirk Hammett. He had this shit called ‘Romulan’ one time, which was, probably, the best weed I ever smoked.” A Leafly search of the Romulan strain, named after the wise and mysterious Star Trek race, reveals that its a “powerful indica revered for it...

What’s Coming to Disney+ in October 2020

Disney+ is doing their own thing for October 2020. The Mouse House is mostly opting out of spooky season for some truly out-of-this-world events. There’s the series premiere of The Right Stuff and the highly anticipated sophomore season of their Emmy-winning Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian. Beyond that, Disney+ is adding a few big titles to their catalogue, specifically Maleficent, X2: X-Men United, Mr. Holland’s Opus, and — watch out — Cheaper by the Dozen 2. They’re also getting the 31st season of The Simpsons. How about that. For those bummed out there are very little Halloween treats — including their dusty diamond-in-the-rough special Halloween Treats — it should be noted that they already have plenty of ghoulish content on the service. Yes, that means Halloweentown. Editors’ ...

Respect The Pioneers: GORE-TEX Inventor Bob Gore Has Passed Away

Source: George Frey/RETIRED / Getty If you ever wore clothing specifically made for the outdoors then you need to take a moment of silence. The father to one of the greatest fashion inventions is no longer with us. As spotted on High Snobiety Bob Gore, the inventor of GORE-TEX, has passed away on Thursday, September 17. In 1969 Bob Gore stretched heated rods of polytetrafluoroethylene and created expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. His discovery of the right conditions for stretching PTFE was a happy accident, born partly out of frustration. Instead of slowly stretching the heated material, he applied a sudden, accelerating yank. “I decided to give one of these rods a huge stretch, fast, a jerk and it stretched 1000%” he said. After some more testing he introduced it to the public under...

Bobby Shmurda Denied Parole, May Serve Max Sentence

Source: Bennett Raglin/BET / Getty Bobby Shmurda got some bad news. The Brooklyn rapper has been denied parole and won’t see release until 2021. After being repeatedly denied bail pleaded guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charges in September 2016. A month later, the “Hot N*gga” rapper was sentenced to 7 years in jail. But with credit for time served, and good behavior, Shmurda and his team hoped he’d be out in 3 and a half years. However, TMZ reports that Shmurda was interviewed by the parole board last week and his request for release was denied. At the moment no reason has been given for the denial. The speculation is that Shmurda not being a model inmate at least factored i...
