Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart Face Off in New Uber Eats Commercial: Watch

May the force be with Uber Eats. The food delivery app has just released a new commercial, and it features a Star Wars and Star Trek crossover we never could have predicted. In the video, Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart emerge from the shadows of a dark warehouse to face off. What’s so urgent that Luke Skywalker and Captain Jean-Luc Picard would leave lockdown and duel? Tomatoes. Specifically, the correct pronunciation of the word. Is it “tomahto” or “tomayto”? Who will survive this showdown? In addition to seeing these two legendary actors dramatically debate food, the clip includes a few funny lines referencing their respective franchises. At one point, Stewart asks Hamill how he plans to win without help from his father. In a nod to that classic Darth Vader scene, Hamill replies, “I am ...

R.I.P. Pamela Hutchinson, The Emotions Singer Dies at 61

Pamela Hutchinson, a member of the famed R&B trio The Emotions, died Friday (September 18th) at the age of 61. A post on The Emotions’ Facebook page confirmed the news on Sunday. “In loving memory, we are saddened to announce the passing of our sister, Pamela Rose Hutchinson,” read the posting. “Pam succumbed to health challenges that she’d been battling for several years. Now our beautiful sister will sing amongst the angels in heaven in perfect peace.” Hutchinson’s sisters Wanda, Jeanette, and Sheila began performing gospel music as the Hutchinson Sunbeams in the early ’60s. The Chicago-based girl group found relative fame i...

Giant “F*CK CUOMO AND DE BLASIO” Message Painted On Brooklyn Street

Source: Pacific Press / Getty Though New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio helped navigate New York through a grueling and horrifying few months during the Coronavirus pandemic to the point where life is semi-normal once again, many New Yorkers are still harboring hard feelings towards the elected leaders and let as much be known on the streets of Brooklyn. The New York Post is reporting that during an block party this past Saturday night in Brooklyn, partygoers decided to send a not to subtle message to the states governor and city’s mayor and painted “F*CK CUOMO AND DE BLASIO” on the streets of North 15th Street between Wythe Avenue and Banker Street in Williamsburg. Similar to the “BLACK LIVES MATTER” mural that was painted in front of Trump Tower, the sign is...

Emmys So Black: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Regina King, Zendaya & More Snag Golden Lady Statuettes

Source: ABC / Getty it was a fantastic night for Black Hollywood during the 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Despite the COVID-19 global pandemic still being a thing, the show went on as television’s brightest all converged on Hollywood virtually, while in the safety of their own watch party bubbles and homes. We not gonna lie, while watching Schitt’s Creek sweep all comedy categories, which meant that Insecure coming off its best season, nabbed one award out its 8 nominations, we were beginning to worry if it was gonna be a long night. BUT, it was refreshing to see  Dan Levy, who won awards for writing, directing, and supporting actor shoutout of Issa Rae’s hit HBO comedy series in one his acceptance speeches. “I want to recognize Issa Rae and the writers on Insecure for writi...

Looking At You Skip Bayless: LeBron James Claps Back At Critics Following Lakers Game 2 Win

Source: Kevin C. Cox / Getty LeBron James had time for armchair experts critiquing his performance on the court. Fresh off a stunning Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Denver Nuggets in game two of the Western Conference Finals that saw Anthony Davis nail a buzzer-beating three, James took some time to address his haters. Before the game came down to the defining moment, the Lakers were cruising, for the most part, led by a torrid start by James before he cooled off in the second half, and Davis took over. Critics like professional LeBron James hater, Skip Bayless, didn’t waste time twisting himself into a pretzel to find a way to fault King James for the Lakers almost losing the game. They believe that Bron was trying to get himself out of the pivotal moment and relieving himself of the...

It’s long been established that Zendaya is Meechee, but someone tell Gabriel Gundacker that Zendaya also just made history at the Emmys. The Euphoria star took home Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series on Sunday night (September 20) — making the 24-year-old the youngest recipient to ever receive that honor. “I know this feels like a really weird time to be celebrating,” she said in an acceptance speech at home, surrounded by her family, “but I just want to say that there is hope in the young people out there.” The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were truly a night like no other; Jimmy Kimmel hosted the gig from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but winners gave their speeches virtually. Among those top winners were HBO’s family-as-politics saga Success...

BTS Bring Fall-Ready ’70s Disco Threads To Intimate Tiny Desk Concert

Last month, ahead of their staggering set of wins at the 2020 VMAs, BTS broke down their latest smash, “Dynamite,” to MTV News. “It’s a really fun disco-pop track about doing what we can do, even when things don’t work out as planned,” RM said. But even as 2020 has been the year of things not quite working out they way we planned them, BTS has continued to thrive. “Dynamite” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group picked up four VMAs, including one for Best Pop. And now, even if they can’t rock stadiums with their live spectacle, the group is still making it happen: Their latest performance for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series is proof. The group brought “Dynamite” to life to kick things off, seated in...

How Working With Students Battling Addiction Changed This Educator Forever

Michelle Lipinski is the founder and principal at Northshore High School, a Massachusetts-based school which specializes in supporting students who are 16 and recovering. And in the video below, the educator — who you can watch this Tuesday on the MTV docuseries — stresses how she has personally evolved when it comes to helping young people who struggle with addiction. “I went from a typical educational background into public health, and what I realized on this side of it — and I’m going to be super vulnerable right now — is that I did every single thing wrong,” Michelle states in the clip. “I suspended kids for things that, frankly, they didn’t have any control over. I expected things of their families that they were never going to be ...

In a recent interview with DEATH ANGEL‘s Ted Aguilar, SEPULTURA‘s Andreas Kisser once again recalled his experience auditioning for METALLICA as James Hetfleld‘s temporary replacement (on guitar only) while James recovered from being burned onstage back in 1992. He said: “What a privilege, man. Phil Rind from SACRED REICH, very good friends from [then-METALLICA bassist] Jason Newsted. And me and Phil Rind, of course, were good friends — SACRED REICH and SEPULTURA were touring together during ‘Arise’ — and we love METALLICA. Me and Phil, we always loved METALLICA. I remember we were the only ones, maybe, that were defending the ‘black’ album when it came out… The more ‘thrashy’ people [said], ‘Ah, METALLICA sold out,’ w...

Wayne died after mixing Xanax and other powerful prescription drugs with alcohol, according to the coroner’s report. The 48-year-old Static, whose real name was Wayne Richard Wells, was found dead in his Landers, California home on November 1, 2014. Campos said (see video below): “I don’t wanna dwell on that stuff. It was just a really bad time for the band and for myself personally. Long story short, the band fell apart. Wayne got really involved with drugs and he got addicted and, unfortunately, it cost him his life. “You can’t help someone that doesn’t wanna be...
