To celebrate the momentous 25th anniversary of its illustrious EDC brand, Insomniac is returning to Europe to further expand the festival’s horizons. Insomniac representatives took to the company’s EDC Las Vegas Twitter account, among other social media platforms, to tease a “VERY special location” in Europe to commemorate the landmark milestone. “It’s been an incredible 25 year journey with so many of YOU beautiful people from around the Globe. Let’s celebrate as we come full circle for our return to Europe!” the post reads. It also features a promo video, soundtracked to Seven Lions’ single “Another Way (with April Bender),” which reveals the return is scheduled for summer 2021. Let’s be honest—no matter how much undying love you and your rave bae have for each other, you fight sometimes despite being closer than peanut butter and jelly. GLD‘s latest release, “Mad, Cause I’m Right,” isn’t for the couples that work things out, though. It’s for those that are no longer lovebirds. The track, which arrived by way of Flux Pavilion‘s Circus Records, has all the makings of a sad boy anthem with heartbreak-themed lyrics, aching future bass chord progressions, and an infectious hook. Mattie, one-half of GLD, vocalizes the all-too familiar-feeling of arguing in circles with your significant other and the heartbreak that ensues. The track’s vocals have a unique feel akin to a Juice WRLD ballad, tugging at t...
Renowned country artist Cam has opened up about her experiences collaborating with Avicii, who co-wrote the titular track from her forthcoming album The Otherside. “I got to co-write with Avicii before he passed away on this incredible song that I’m obsessed with,” Cam told Katie Neal of RADIO.com live from the 2020 ACM Awards. Cam was working on the track with the late dance music icon prior to his tragic 2018 death, and his loss greatly affected her creative process. However, she was so enamored with what the two had worked on that she decided to posthumously release the song on her highly anticipated sophomore LP to honor Avicii’s legacy. Avicii’s work ethic, Cam says, had a profound impact on her. “I felt I had to get this right for his...
Ozzy Osbourne kicked off 2020 with his critically acclaimed No. 1 rock album “Ordinary Man” — his first new solo album in ten years — and a planned return to the road. And then came the pandemic. Now, fans of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer and songwriter can enjoy a variety of projects celebrating his legacy this fall. First up was the September 7 premiere of A&E Network‘s “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne”. He’ll also wrap the year by releasing the 40th-anniversary expanded digital edition of his landmark debut album “Blizzard Of Ozz” and digital versions of two classic longform videos, “Live & Loud” and “Live At Budokan”. Initially released on September 20, 1980 in...
RATING: 8/10 There’s always been something uniquely exciting about collisions between thrash metal and brutal hardcore. Recent records by the likes of RINGWORM and INTEGRITY have proved that point tenfold, but while PLAGUE YEARS are considerably more traditional in thrash terms than either of those bands, there is a similarly destructive and anarchic vibe here. Vocalist Tim Englehardt occasionally sounds a lot like INTEGRITY‘s Dwid Hellion, too, but “Circle of Darkness” takes its most essential cues from the ultra-dark fringes of the thrash firmament, from the obvious benchmarks of SLAYER, KREATOR and DARK ANGEL, through to more recent purveyors of filthy speed worship like POWER TRIP and ENFORCED. Superficial scene resemblances aside, this is an incredibly potent a...
New York City hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL have released a live session of “Alone”, the first video of the band’s quarantine sessions. SICK OF IT ALL said in a statement: “Quarantine gave us a reason (and an excuse) to dust off some of our favorite songs that haven’t been featured in our live set either in a while, or ever. We wanted to rekindle their fire, and share them with our fans worldwide. So for the next months, we’re going to release one song every fortnight to try to keep the torch of hardcore lit through this drought of live music that’s driving us all crazy! Please stay tuned for details and release dates.” SICK OF IT ALL‘s twelfth studio album, “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”, was released in November 2018 via Ce...
Swedish metallers SABATON, whose lyrical themes are based on war, historical battles and acts of heroism, have commemorated the 104th anniversary of the World War I Battle Of Flers–Courcelette, fought from September 15, 1916 to September 22, 1916, by releasing a very unique video for the song “The Future Of Warfare”, created using… building blocks. Check it out below. “The Future Of Warfare” is taken from SABATON‘s ninth full-length album, “The Great War”, which came out in July 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s 20th-anniversary record was a concept effort covering stories from the First World War. SABATON started recording “The Great War” exactly 100 years after the end of the First World War (November 11, 1918) and took...

L is for Lil Nas X, and C Is for Country! The “Old Town Road” star took to Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 15) to announce that his new children’s book, C Is for Country, will be arriving early next year. “I’m dropping the best kids book of all time soon!” he wrote. “C IS FOR COUNTRY, out January 5, 2021 from @randomhousekids. I can’t wait to share it with you all.” The book, written by Lil Nas X and illustrated by Theodore Taylor III, features a cover featuring the singer in his characteristically colorful outfit, holding a guitar and riding his horse. The story follows Lil Nas X and Panini the pony “on a joyous journey through the alphabet from sunup to sundown,” according to Random House’s website. “...
Together, David Guetta and Sia have been two of the key architects of the bridge between dance music and pop music. The French producer and the Australian singer first struck sonic gold nearly a decade ago, with their monumental and era-defining smash “Titanium,” which fused Guetta’s electronic production with Sia’s indestructible pop vocals. Although Guetta originally offered the song to Katy Perry, this past July Perry revealed that she turned it down because the vocalist on the demo, Sia, was so damn good. The world agreed, with the track becoming Sia’s highest charting song at the time and “Titanium” spending 13 weeks on the Hot 100, where it peaked at No. 7. The success of the song also opened the floodgates for a barrage of Guetta/Sia collabs...
Madonna is bringing her superstar life to the silver screen once more as she co-writes and directs her own biopic, Universal Pictures confirmed today (Sept. 15). But which artist’s auto-biopic would you love to watch next? Back in 2016, Harry Styles was rumored to play Mick Jagger in The Rolling Stones‘ biopic Exile On Main Street: A Season in Hell With the Rolling Stones. But the Stylers would still love to see the former One Directioner steal the main spotlight in a Jagger auto-biopic. It’s still actress Taraji P. Henson‘s dream to one day portray (and produce) a project about her icon Diana Ross, according to a press junket interview she did in support of her 2019 movie What Men Want. “I don’t know if she’s rea...
