It was the battle of the Dogs on Wednesday night (July 22), as Snoop Dogg and DMX faced off as part of the latest heavyweight bout on Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz platform. There was no East Coast-West Coast beef here, as the rap titans’ mutual respect for one another couldn’t have been any higher. With things taking just a bit longer than expected to get going, X and Snoop moseyed into the studio together around 8:15 pm ET. After a quick prayer along with some chicken strips and Kool-Aid, we were off. More than 500,000 fans filled the virtual arena at its peak on the Verzuz IG Live. The pair didn’t leave much on the table when running through a range of street classics and bi-coastal anthems from their decorated discographies — plus some leftovers for o...
To label Kygo as an EDM DJ is underselling him. The Norwegian artist does spin discs, and produce electronic music. And during his appearance Wednesday on The Tonight Show, he showcased his talents on a grand piano. Kygo (real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll) performed an iso-version of “Lose Somebody” with OneRepublic, a collaboration lifted from Golden Hour, the multi-talented European musician’s latest LP. The Nordic wonder is in the mix with another collaboration doing big things on sales charts around the globe. His remix of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” is on target to give the soul legend her first U.K. top 40 hit in more than a decade. Golden Hour peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 in June. Watch the performance below. [embedded content] You Deserve to Make Money Even W...
It’s official: Demi Lovato is getting hitched! The pop star is taking her relationship with Max Ehrich to the next stage, after saying “yes” to his marriage proposal. The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer shared the good news in an Instagram post (see below). “When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent,” she writes. “To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.” Ehrich, whom she has been romantically linked to since March, is the right guy. “I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” she continues. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but lu...
Willie Nelson is looking happy and healthy, and just might be the youngest 87-year-old in the music business, based on his appearance Wednesday for Jimmy Kimmel Live. Flanked by his two sons Micah and Lukas, all on acoustic guitars, the country legend performed “I Never Cared for You,” a song he originally cut back in 1964. The Nelsons are one musical family. It’s another welcome comeback for the patriarch, who ended a tour early last August due to lung conditions robbing his breath. He recovered, returned to the road pre-coronavirus and just released a new album, First Rose of Spring. Judging by his stint on late-night TV, he’s not short of energy (or breath). Watch below. Source: Scott Olson / Getty For the past few weeks crime and shootings have been really getting out of control in the cities of Chicago and New York. But things didn’t go as smoothly as planned as their intended targets shot back, causing the vehicle to come to a crashing halt before it’s occupants jumped out and sped off in different directions. When it was all said and done 60 shell casings ...

Kygo and Tedder also recently released a quirky, futuristic video for ...
With dramatic chorale samples, flurrying drum machines, and emotionally charged vocals, a new collaboration from the mysterious A.I. producer KLOUD and Nigerian-Haitian rapper Wasiu is a force to be reckoned with. The track, titled “MATTER,” was released July 20 via Lowly, with half of its proceeds to be donated to Color of Change and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Straight out of the gate, “MATTER” commands attention with its powerful vocal samples reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic movie. The chants are quickly joined by pounding bass and rapid-fire drum machine synths, providing the perfect backdrop for Wasiu to drop in with fearless narrative flows detailing the current social climate in America. Wasiu’s booming, compelling vocal presence irr...
Jim Bollenbacher‘s water cooler talk is better than yours. After years of service as a first responder medic at large music festivals, the attorney turned paramedic has released a new book detailing his experiences. Molly, Mushrooms and Mayhem: Stories from Inside the Music Festival Medical Tent explores Bollenbacher’s work tending to ravers and revelers at major music events over the years. The medical tent at a music festival is not something you want to be familiar with first-hand, and from a medic’s vantage point, it can be an extremely chaotic and stressful environment. On the flip-side, the inside of a medical tent can also be quite entertaining considering the title of the book, which will make readers “laugh, cringe, and maybe even gasp as they learn of...
