Back in May 2020, we reported that organizers of the Kansas City electronic music festival Dancefestopia had announced the news that state and county officials gave them permission to move forward with the event’s 2020 edition. After being given the green-light, representatives acknowledged that “the situation could change.” Due to the unrelenting impact of COVID-19, they have officially announced Dancefestopia’s postponement to September 9th to 12th, 2021. Department of Sound’s “Summer of Sound 2020” Program Offers Free Youth Music Production Courses
The nonprofit organization Department of Sound recently introduced its new youth music and podcast production course, “Summer of Sound 2020.” At no cost, students thirteen years of age and older will be able to learn the basics of music composition, live recording, and more. EDM producers and fans alike will be happy to hear that many of the students go on to create electronic music and that a Kaytranada remix is analyzed as part of the coursework. Once billed as “America’s first-ever hard rock and heavy metal music award show,” the Golden Gods will return in 2021 — contingent on directives and guidelines released by governing and health agencies regarding the novel coronavirus. According to Variety, the event, which had a six-year run between 2009 and 2014, will be staged by the newly launched production studio Hit Parader, headed up by Ash Avildsen, Josh Bernstein and Matt Pinfield. California-based record label Burger Records announced a number of changes on Monday night following a massive influx of sexual misconduct accusations that have been raised since late last week.
