Mark Kozelek has been accused by three women of sexual misconduct, according to an investigative piece published by Pitchfork today. Sarah Catherine Golden, a mental health specialist, told Pitchfork that she met the Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters singer on a flight to Portugal. Pitchfork reports that Golden declined Kozelek’s invitation to spend the night. She asked him to call her a cab, and he did so. But she allegedly recounted later to friends via text, “He started kissing me and simultaneously was somehow naked and hard and jerking off.” Golden didn’t report the incident to Portuguese police, but...

Following the release of her highly anticipated remix of Dua Lipa‘s “Levitating” with Madonna and Missy Elliott, The Blessed Madonna joined Zane Lowe of Apple Music to rhapsodize about the track along with Dua. Remixing a Grammy Award-winning pop superstar is one of the most daunting tasks a music producer can take on, but it can also be one of the most rewarding. It’s been quite a year for Neil Young. Between his battles with Trump, Fireside Sessions and everything else, it’s hard to see how he’s had time to do anything else. Yet, Young has three new archival projects on the way, due out later this year. Way Down in the Rust Bucket will chronicle Young and Crazy Horse’s gig at Santa Cruz’s Catalyst Club in November 1990, around the time of Ragged Glory. Young has previously aired snippets from the show on his site, and he’s also planning to release a live set from 2003’s Greendale tour on Nov. 6. Hardcore fans will be pleased to learn that Young is finally ready to release Neil Young Archives Vol. 2 on Nov. 6 as well. The box will pick up where Vol. 1 left off when it was released in 2009. “In these days, l...
Bespectacled and mustached, he gyrates in his underwear while tapping keys, punching pads, and looping every sound at his disposal. He looks like a fit version of Kip from Napoleon Dynamite and a ’70s porn star, the charisma and intensity of the former cranked up to match the unrepentant lasciviousness of the latter. This is Marc Rebillet, aka “Loop Daddy.” Both via simulcast live-stream and on stage, the 31-year-old Dallas native improvises songs based on conversations with his audience. Topics include but are not limited to “big booty” and “mushroom trip.” “Generally, I find songs having to do with ass or fucking do quite well,” Rebillet tells SPIN over the phone from his Manhattan apartment. With or without suggestion or approbation, he’d still be belting odes to ass and trying to fi...
After announcing the 20-20-20 Galaxie 500 cover series last week, today (Aug. 13), Thurston Moore’s contribution dropped. Moore gave “Another Day,” off Galaxie 500’s 1989 sophomore LP, On Fire, the unplugged treatment. In the video of the cover, vocals and an acoustic guitar are paired with black and white images of fields and sky, as well as a few clips of Thurston performing the song. In a statement, Thurston recalls his introduction to Galaxie 500: I first heard of Galaxie 500 when I was walking around downtown NYC 1988 with Susanne Sasic, who was working with Sonic Youth, first as a t-shirt seller at the gigs, then as lighting designer, and we saw a little flyer wheatpasted on a wall with Galaxie 500’s name on it where they were playing a gig at some long lost l...
