Don Dokken spoke to Rob Rush about the progress of the songwriting sessions for DOKKEN‘s new album — the group’s first since 2012’s “Broken Bones”. He said (hear audio below): “We’re actually recording over Skype. Jon [Levin, guitar] and I have been Skyping each other, ’cause I’m up in New Mexico. He’s in L.A. I’m at my other house in New Mexico hidin’ out. And we just get on Zoom and I get all the boys on the screen and we all just put our heads together and we write.” Don previously told The Metal Voice that he and Levin had “about seven songs so far” for DOKKEN‘s next LP, which will be released via Silver Lining Music, the label owned by Thomas Jensen, one of the founders of Germany’s W...

WINGER’s New Album ‘Should Easily Be Out By January’

During an appearance on the latest episode of the “In The Trenches With Ryan Roxie” podcast, WINGER frontman Kip Winger spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s new studio album. The disc will be the follow-up to “Better Days Comin'”, which came out in 2014. “Reb [Beach, guitar] and I got together in December and wrote a few songs. We had put some Instagram posts up at that time,” Kip said (see video below). “We actually came up with a couple of really good ideas, and a bunch of really not-so-good ideas. But right now we have what I can say are four really decent songs that reach the bar of what I’d like to put out. And then the COVID thing happened, so now we’re doing a little bit of file sharing, which...

DEE SNIDER Is Recording Christmas Song With TARJA TURUNEN

During an appearance on the “Behind The Vinyl” podcast, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider revealed that he is recording a Christmas song with ex-NIGHTWISH frontwoman Tarja Turunen. “I wrote this song for my wife many years ago,” he said (hear audio below). “You guys may or may not know that Celine Dion recorded a Christmas song I wrote [called ‘God Bless Us Everyone’]. I wrote it as a gift for my wife; I never wrote it for commercial purposes. And I can’t — it’s just out of my range to sing it. But long story short, I decided to do my own rendition of it, and I asked Tarja to sing it as a duet with me, ’cause it’s got some really high parts in it. So Jeff Pilson from DOKKEN and FOREIGNER, he’s producing it. And weR...

This piece of melodic electro feels like a nostalgic hug. EDDIE is here to lull you into an electro dreamscape with his new single “Somewhere In Between” featuring Colleen D’Agostino, out now via mau5trap.  After throwing down hard-hitting electro over the last few years, the Australian DJ and producer opted to switch up the pace, showcasing his melodic side to his fans. The hypnotic production conjures up the emotion felt post-rave when you are laying with a loved one and reminiscing. The intoxicating synth work paired with D’Agostino’s lush vocals feels like a time warp back to the days of old deadmau5 hits. It’s a welcoming sense of nostalgia while still remaining unique. Since joining the mau5trap family back in 2017, EDDIE has ma...

Reelz v. Reels: Network Sues Instagram, Facebook for Trademark Infringement

Instagram last week launched a new short-video feature called Reels — capitalizing on demand in the market amid privacy concerns surrounding TikTok and a looming ban of the ByteDance-owned app — and it’s already facing troubles of its own. ReelzChannel says the feature’s name infringes on its longstanding trademark. The network, which launched in 2006, says it reaches more than 50 million homes in the U.S. The suit, which was filed Tuesday in Minnesota federal court, where the network’s parent company Hubbard Broadcasting is based, claims Reels usurps Reelz’ goodwill and is likely to confuse consumers. {“nid”:”9429589″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”Instagram Launches TikTok Competitor Reels”...
