BATTLE BEAST’s NOORA LOUHIMO Says Musical Direction Of Her Debut Solo Album Will Be ‘Soulful Blues Rock With Country Influences’
BATTLE BEAST singer Noora Louhimo will enter the studio in September to begin recording her debut solo album for an early 2021 release. Some of the songrwriting sessions have taken place at JaBa Recording Studios in Hankasalmi, Finland with Samuli Erkkilä. Regarding the status of the material for the solo LP, Louhimo told Finland’s Kaaos TV (see video below): “A couple of more songs [need to be] done, [and] then the material is there, and then we are doing the arrangements. The long-in-the-works solo album from QUEENSRŸCHE singer Todd La Torre is currently being mixed for a late 2020 release via Rat Pak Records. On Monday (July 27), La Torre tweeted: “Listening to latest mixes of my solo record, sounds awesome! @ratpakrecords #worldwidesoon” This past March, Todd said he would use the coronavirus downtime to write or co-write a few more tunes and “shape up existing songs/demos” for his solo album with his lifelong best friend Craig Blackwell. Korn have unleashed a cover of the Charlie Daniels classic “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, featuring guest vocals from rapper Yelawolf. Proceeds from the song will benefit the nonprofit organization Awakening Youth. The track was recorded during the sessions for Korn’s 2019 album, The Nothing, but sees its release less than a month after the passing of Charlie Daniels himself. The country music and Southern rock legend died July 6th at the age of 83 after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke.
