After going radio silent for a few weeks after he shared “bye, I left” on social media May 19, Bad Bunny has broken his silence and spoken out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. In a poignant statement titled “Forgive Me” published in TIME magazine, the chart-topping artist asks his fans to forgive him for not speaking out sooner but, “I can’t even believe this is still happening. Maybe it’s because I’ve always seen people’s hearts and, in my house, I was always taught that we are all the same regardless of race, religion and surname; that we are all brothers/sisters. I SWEAR I don’t feel well, and I don’t think I can express myself properly.” Amid national outrage and protests following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who was...
Lil Wayne delivered another episode of his Young Money Radio on Apple Music Friday (June 12), featuring an all-star cast of guests including T-Pain, Nicki Minaj, Damien Lillard, Noreaga and Lil Duval. Weezy and his longtime pal, whom he introduced as “the First Lady of Young Money and the Queen of every f—ing thing,” delved into a chat about being a female in the rap game. Wayne recalled that when he signed Nicki to his label back in 2009, people told him not to sign a woman. “It was getting someone to take you serious, and that was the whole thing I was worried about,” Minaj explained. “I didn’t know if you would take me serious, because at the time people had really given up on female rappers.” “I just knew I was going to ma...
Source: YouTube / Youtube Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine went ahead and dropped their video for “Trollz.” The visual is quite colorful and features plenty of Nicki Minaj twerking her “enhanced” (allegedly) derriere and shaking her bare bosom, save for some well-placed pasties. And that’s all we got. Okay, Nicki’s bars are cool and Tekashi Snitch9 gets a participation trophy. That’s really all we got. But feel free to let us know what you think in the comments. Source: AGUSTIN PAULLIER / Getty The hands of justice have moved ever so slightly in favor of Breonna Taylor and her family, this after a law named after her passed Thursday night (June 11). Known as “Breonna’s Law,” the legislation effectively bans no-knock warrants in the city of Louisville, but the officers who killed the 26-year-old have yet to face consequences. As reported by local outlet Louisville Courier-Journal, the Metro Council voted unanimously in favor of passing the law with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer stating ahead of time that he planned to sign it into law with no objections. Taylor, whose birthday recently passed, was shot by Louisville Metro Police on March 13, Tayor’s apartment was targeted as part of a narcotics investigation and after entering the home, the officer...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty It’s been a minute since a rapper with clout dropped a anti-police record but with the current protests going on across the US, YG is filling that void and created a new “Fuck The Police” anthem for 2020. In his new black-and-white clip for “FTP” YG joins the protests on the streets of LA and uses footage of Po-9 abusing their power both and violating the civil rights of peaceful protestors of colors to drive his point home. Thank goodness for camera phones, b. From LA to BK, Pop Smoke may no longer be with us but his memory continues to live on in his Rowdy Rebel assisted “Make It Rain” which features a CGI version of Pop’s grill towering over the streets of Brooklyn.
