Wolfgang Van Halen says that it’s not up to David Lee Roth to decide whether Eddie Van Halen will ever tour again. Eddie‘s 29-year-old son, who plays bass for VAN HALEN, made the comment shortly after Roth gave an interview to the New York Times in which he said that VAN HALEN is unlikely to perform live anytime soon. “I don’t know that Eddie is ever really going to rally for the rigors of the road again,” Roth said. “I don’t even want to say I’ve waited — I’ve supported for five years. ADEMA bassist David DeRoo has urged people to wear face masks after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Earlier today (Saturday, July 18), DeRoo took to his personal Facebook page to say that he originally believed COVID-19 was blown out of proportion and was questioning “how ‘real’ it is/was.” But once he started experiencing the usual COVID-19 symptoms, including loss of taste, fatigue, body aches and fever, he took himself to the emergency room at a local hospital where he was tested for the novel coronavirus. Ken Chinn (aka Mr. Chi Pig) of SNFU Ken Chinn (a.k.a. Mr. Chi Pig), the singer of influential Canadian hardcore-punk band SNFU, has died at the age of 57. No cause of death has been disclosed, but the vocalist previously revealed in a December 2019 interview with Beatroute that he was in failing health and had a short time to live. The origins of SNFU — short for Society’s No F**king Use — date back to 1981, when Chinn first formed the punk band Live Sex Shows in Edmonton with twin-brother guitarists Marc and Brent Belke. BottleRock Festival Cancelled, 2020 Headliners Rescheduled for 2021 Edition
Northern California’s BottleRock Napa music festival has been cancelled for 2020 and rescheduled to take place in May 2021. In a statement, organizers cited a need to prioritize public health and safety as the reason for the cancellation. The festival was originally scheduled for late May of this year, but with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States in March, organizers took action and initially postponed the festival to October 2020. Major concerts and festivals are a part of California’s Phase 4 reopening stage, which health experts seem to believe will not be achieved prior to the availability of a vaccine.
