Live Nation UK Cancels Drive-In Concert Tour Less Than Three Weeks After Announcement
Keep calm and carry on, live music fans. The concert industry will come back soon—just not as soon as we’d hoped. Live Nation UK has announced the cancellation of its drive-in concert series for the hit British musical Six. It was scheduled for 12 dates in different cities, taking place at venues such as airports and race courses with a capacity of 300 cars per show. Since some shows sold out since the tour’s June 19th announcement, Live Nation said ticket-holders will receive full refunds. Scheduled performers included The Streets, Ash, Sigala, Gary Numan, Skindred, Brand New Heavies, and Dizzee Rascal. Japanese metal auteurs Boris have offered up the dystopian music video for “-鏡 -Zerkalo-”, the third single from the band’s latest album, NO. Much like the tracks cascading doom chords and passionate vocal rasps, the video for “-鏡 -Zerkalo-” is epic and transportive. Slow pans depict the barren rocks and surging oceans of a future, post-nuclear landscape. After traversing what looks like an alien planet, we’re taken to a dystopian cityscape. PJ Harvey has announced a vinyl reissue of her third album, To Bring You My Love, as part of her ongoing year-long reissue campaign. It’s due out on September 11th via UMC/Island. Harvey is also set to share To Bring You My Love – Demos, a compilation of previously unreleased recordings, that same day. This is the third installment in Harvey’s reissue campaign. She previously announced re-releases of 1992’s Dry and 1993’s Rid of Me as well as accompanying demos for each, the latter of which was produced by industry staple Steve Albini. During a July 12 Facebook Live chat, ICED EARTH leader Jon Schaffer revealed that plans are afoot to release a 30th-anniversary edition of the band’s self-titled debut album. The new version of the 1990 LP will feature a remix by Chris “Zeuss” Harris, who previously worked with ICED EARTH on the group’s latest effort, 2017’s “Incorruptible”, and brand new artwork.
