Last month, Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O dusted off the band’s track “Our Time” for a special solo performance from quarantine. This weekend, she returned with another socially-distant performance video, this time with YYYs guitarist Nick Zinner in tow. With Karen singing from her closest and Zinner appearing remotely via a laptop, the pair played “Phenomena” from their 2006 album Show Your Bones. For added effect, Karen decorated her closest with streamers, strobe lights, and even a smoke machine. Catch the replay below. Karen captioned the video, writing, “Party anywhere (closet) anytime (any day of the week) safe at home. 💥” YYYs’ last album, Mosquito, dropped in 2013. Earlier this year, Karen O said she was “ready to make” new music with the band agai...

Karen O has been quite active on social media since quarantine began, and last night she shared another performance from her closet — this time joined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner (remotely, via laptop, of course). The two played “Phenomena” off the band’s 2006 album Show Your Bones. The singer transformed her closet with streamers, strobe lights, and a smoke machine, and donned a face covering that she quickly tore off. “Somethin’ like a phenomena,” she captioned the video on Instagram. “Party anywhere (closet) anytime (any day of the week) safe at home” Karen O reiterated this sentiment at the end of the performance. “Fuckin’ party on!” she yelled before the closet door closed. Last month, Karen O shared her first closet performance — dusting off the first track she ever...

Spotify is extending their remote work from home arrangement for all global employees through the end of the 2020 calendar year. The company operates over 50 offices and employs over 5,000 full time workers globally. The move to extend remote work until at least 2021 will allow the company to dictate phasing in their global office and reopen at their own pace. In a statement to Variety, a Spotify spokesperson commented, “We will continue to track local government guidelines city-by-city and take a phased approach of opening our offices when we deem it safe to do so.” The COVID-19 pandemic continues to rapidly reshape the work environment, accelerating a trend towards remote work from home arrangements. Tech companies have been leading the trend. Most notably, Jack Dor...
For the third Friday running, BROCKHAMPTON have shared a cache of new music. This week, it’s a chilled-out trio of tracks in “I.F.L.”, “baby bull”, and “downside”. A handful of BROCKHAMPTON members are in quarantine together, and as they’ve done the last two weeks, they hosted a password-protected livestream called Technical Difficulties. Via the fans at /r/BROCKHAMPTON, the boy band is being cagey about what Technical Difficulties actually is — album, loosies, or something else entirely. However, they did suggest that it’s happening without label RCA’s approval, which might explain why none of the premieres have made it to Apple Music or Spotify, and also why the four previous releases — “M.O.B.” and “twisted”, as well as “N.S.T.” and “things can’t stay the same” — have already ...
