Eddie Murphy first teased Shrek 5 in an interview while promoting his latest project, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, last month.The actor revealed that he had started working on the project around five months prior but didn’t reveal any additional details. He did however note that Donkey would be receiving his own movie down the line.DreamWorks Animation has now not only officially confirmed that Shrek 5 will release on July 1, 2026, but has also revealed that Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz are reprising their roles. The Cocteau Twins and composer Harold Budd joined forces in 1986 to put out a collaborative studio album entitled The Moon and the Melodies. Nearly forty years later, the project is receiving a vinyl repressing.Ethereal and dreamy, the LP converges the minimalist and improvised compositions of Budd, who passed away in 2020, with Elizabeth Fraser’s floating vocals on four songs, while another four favor the composer’s meandering, poem-like style. The deal follows months of negotiations between Skydance and Paramount chairwoman Shari Redstone, whose family owns 77% of Paramount's voting shares through their holding company National Amusements.The production company Skydance was founded by David Ellison, the son of billionaire Oracle founder Larry Ellison, in 2006. Since 2009, the company has been co-producing and co-financing movies for Paramount. A powerhouse in the entertainment space, Paramount comprises the namesake movie and TV studios, streaming service and CBS.On a call regarding the deal, Ellison referred to the combined company as New Paramount, which is valued at $28 billion USD.
