Ariana Grande has teamed up with Brandy and Monica for a remix of her song, “the boy is mine” which shares a name with the duo’s 1998 hit. The original version or the remix never samples Brandy and Monica’s song but reimagines the track for a new audience with a completely different beat and lyrics that make it an unapologetic anthem over a catfight. Brandy and Monica each take a verse with Ariana before the three come together to harmonize the rest of the song.
