As per Complex the former G-Unit soldiers are once again on opposite sides. Last week the memorable performance, which featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem, won three awards at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys. The wins included Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Production Design For A Variety. Over the years, the Beatles have moved thoughtfully into the merchandise business. The early years of rock ‘n roll artist merch were both an afterthought and a mostly disorganized cash grab, and the Fab Four became more circumspect over the decades. Now, however, The Beatles’ landmark 1968 animated movie classic, Yellow Submarine, is being honored with a series of authentic, legal-tender collectible coins by Scottsdale, Ariz. company The Crown Mint. We spoke with Steven Harris, a principal at Crown Mint. His company has been in business since 2008, initially as a design shop. The company started making packaging for coins, and eventually realized it should evolve into making the coins themselves, “as we could do it better,” he says. Once the company made that pivot, they shifted again. Aft...

The cast of the original The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy have come to the defense of Prime Video’s The Rings of Power, after the series received backlash regarding the actors of color in the cast. Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan and Sean Astin, who portrayed the hobbits Frodo Baggins, Pippin Took, Merry Brandybuck and Samwise Gamgee, took to social media to support the cast. Wood, Boyd and Monaghan were spotted together sporting a T-shirt with the phrase “You all are welcome here” written in Elvish and an illustration of different types of ears spotted in Middle-Earth in several skin tones. Meanwhile, Astin uploaded a separate solo photo of him wearing a cap with the same design, with all four cast members sharing a link to the merchandise and tagging The Rings of Power’s acc...

Ten years ago, Parmalee was a newly signed Stoney Creek act, publicly recognized as a band of survivors after drummer Scott Thomas nearly died when he was shot by a robber in South Carolina in 2010. Now the group has a completely new sheen, though it’s still a band of survivors, having navigated a difficult four-year run between hits and a harrowing change in label ownership to reimagine itself. The act has a brighter, pop-tinged sound that has brought back-to-back No. 1 singles to Country Airplay, accomplished just as COVID-19 forced it off the road and away from its fans. “Bring on the next pandemic,” guitarist Josh McSwain deadpans during a Zoom call the same day that Parmalee’s career-changing single, the Blanco Brown collaboration “Just the Way,” earned a double-platinum award fr...
