Mike Releases Disco! Vinyl, Shares New “Alarmed!” Video
Mike is releasing his 2021 album Disco! on vinyl for the first time. The LP is available at the online shop for his label 10k. To accompany the vinyl release, Mike has shared the music video for his Disco! standout “Alarmed!,” featuring Tigrayan rapper Sideshow. The visual was filmed in Dublin, Ireland by FindJordy, and follows the two rappers through the city as they ride around in cars, hang out in alleyways smoking, and trade verses over the beat. Pogues Bassist Darryl Hunt Dies at 72
Darryl Hunt, a longtime bassist of the Pogues, died on Monday, August 8, the band announced on social media. “We are saddened beyond words,” the Pogues wrote. A cause of death was not revealed. Hunt was 72 years old. In his own statement, Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan called Hunt “a really great person and friend and a great bass player.” He continued, “May he spend eternity doing whatever he wants to do in eternal bliss, and blessings to all of the Pogues and to his family and friends.” Before joining the Pogues in 1986, Darryl Hunt played in bands including Plummet Airlines and Pride of the Cross. Rage Against the Machine have embarked on their “Public Service Announcement Tour,” which the quartet launched last month at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin. Marking the band’s first live shows in 11 years, the ongoing trek was originally scheduled to ignite in 2020, but was postponed twice due to the global pandemic. Darryl Hunt, longtime bassist of legendary Irish punk band The Pogues, has died at the age of 72. According to a post on The Pogues’ Instagram page, Hunt passed away on Monday (August 8th) in London. A cause of death was not disclosed. Hunt joined The Pogues in 1986, replacing original bassist Cait O’Riordan following her marriage to Elvis Costello. He played on five albums, including their 1988 classic, If I Should Fall from Grace with God. Additionally, he wrote “Love You ‘Till the End,” from their 1996 album Pogue Mahone, which was later featured in the 2007 film P.S. I Love You.
