‘Dune: Part 2’ Begins Production With October 2023 Premiere Date
With just a little more than a year to go before its theatrical release, the sequel to Denis Villeneuve‘s 2021 hit Dune has finally begun production. The movie announced the start of shooting via its official Twitter account, posting a photo of Dune: Part 2‘s clapper board along with the caption “We’re rolling.” While those who’ve seen the original film will know the fate of many of the characters in part one, Villeneuve has recruited yet another all-star cast to replace the franchise’s outgoing characters including Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, Black Widow star Florence Pugh, Elvis actor Austin Butler, and James Bond‘s Léa Seydoux. HBO Announces Original Princess Diana Documentary
HBO has officially announced the premiere date of its upcoming original documentary THE PRINCESS, which promises to deliver “an intimate and immersive look at the life of Princess Diana.” The upcoming docu is directed by Ed Perkins and “unfolds as if it were in the present, allowing viewers to experience the overwhelming adoration, but also intense scrutiny of Diana’s every move and the constant judgement of her character,” with its premiere date set for August 13 — a close date to the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s sudden death: “The relationship of Diana and Charles, the Prince and Princess of Wales, was tabloid fodder for nearly two decades, the subject of almost daily headlines in the 24-hour news cycle. ‘The Boys’ Spin-Off Officially Titled as ‘Gen V’
Following the season 3 finale of the anti-hero series The Boys, a spin-off of the series initially named The Boys College has been officially titled as Gen V. Netflix Is Fighting Password Sharing By Allowing Users to “Purchase” Additional Homes
In an effort to combat password sharing, Netflix is now allowing users to “buy” an additional household to add to their account. According to new reports, the streaming giant is now testing out a new way to prevent people from sharing passwords in regions including Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. If the company detects that you’ve been using Netflix either on a TV or other device in a location outside of your home repeatedly for more than two weeks, the service will prompt you to “buy” an additional household for a set price. UTA Nabs Private Equity Investment From EQT to Fuel Expansion
A fund operated by the private equity firm EQT Partners has made a strategic investment in talent agency UTA, in a deal the agency says “will help fuel the next phase of investments in talent, innovation and international expansion.” EQT will become the largest outside shareholder in UTA in the acquisition, which will also see the firm acquiring stakes from some of UTA’s existing investors, including Investcorp and PSP Investments.
