The REI Anniversary Sale offers serious savings on outdoor gear. Here, we hand-pick 10 great deals to stock up your supplies
There’s an amusing trend on TikTok whereby a woman says “My husband booked a fancy restaurant tonight and told me to wear my most expensive outfit” and moments later emerges from her room wearing a down jacket, hiking pants and boots.
It is, of course, an allusion to how expensive outdoor gear can be. We’ve certainly had our fair share of expenses here at Atlas & Boots with trips to Aconcagua, Elbrus and Denali.
When trekking through a blizzard or bedding down on ice, it doesn’t make sense to scrimp on quality. This is why we’re always pleased when the REI Anniversary Sale comes around.
The REI Anniversary Sale marks the retailer’s founding in 1938. It is their biggest sale of the year and offers savings of 25% on more than 6,000 items including big brand names as well as their own products.
The REI Anniversary Sale 2026 runs for 11 days from 15-25 May. Here, we share our top 10 products so you can stock up on Merino and down without blowing the budget.
