Top Dawg Entertainment star SiR has joined forces with Scribz Riley for a brand new single entitled “Life Is Good.” The followup to “Satisfaction,” SiR’s latest cut is a reminder of the good things in life even when there’s trouble brewing. Its accompanying music video, helmed by James Mackel, is the juxtaposition of life being good but also shows that life is a mix of both the good and the bad. “’Life if Good’ represents how blessed you can be despite the hardships we sometimes face,” SiR said in a statement. “Regardless of life’s trials, the detours always lead us to learn a greater lesson.” Both “Life Is Good” and “Satisfaction” will be included in SiR’s upcoming album, which will be his first full-length release since 2019’s Chasing Summer. A release date for the record is ye...

Inviting NPR to his home studio, FKJ, short for French Kiwi Juice, performs a dreamy one-man Tiny Desk Concert, offering viewers a look into the making of select songs from his new V I N C E N T album — namely “New Life” and “IHM.” Seamlessly transitioning from track to track whilst juggling sounds from the piano, saxophone, synths, drums, and guitars, he throws in an improvised jam sesh as well as fan-favorite songs “TUI” and “Ylang Ylang.” In contrast with his performances at stunning locations such as La Fée Electricité, Paris and Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia for Cercle, the Tiny Desk Concert catches FKJ in his natural environment after a long period of introspection, as he rediscovers the lost innocence and freedom in his life with his second album. As stated in his “In the The Making” vi...

Beloved and influential Washington, D.C.-reared rock quartet Jawbox stunned fans today (July 8) by surprise-releasing its first new recordings since its final self-titled album in 1996. The Revisionist EP includes new renditions of “Grip” and “Consolation Prize” from Jawbox’s 1991 debut album Grippe as well as a cover of Wire’s “Lowdown.” After splitting in 1997, Jawbox reunited for a one-off December 2009 performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon but didn’t perform in public again until a 2019 tour. Taped during rehearsals earlier this year, the new recordings are Jawbox’s first with guitarist Brooks Harlan, who stepped in for original member Bill Barbot last year. Frontman J. Robbins says the band felt the two Grippe tracks an...
Following collaborations with artists including Nicki Minaj, Polo G, Chris Brown and Key Glock earlier this year, Fivio Foreign has enlisted The Kid LAROI for a new track, dubbed “Paris to Tokyo,” and an accompanying music video. The duo debuted the cut at London’s Wireless Festival last week before announcing that the single would receive an official release. The visual sees the pair delivering bars, which sample Far East Movement and Ryan Tedder’s “Rocketeer,” among a myriad of swerving cars in an empty lot and partygoers in a prismatic club. “Paris to Tokyo” hits streamers just three months following Fivio’s debut album B.I.B.L.E., which features executive production by Kanye West. The 17-track record features guest appearances from Ye, A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Polo G,&nb...

If Caamp ringleader Taylor Meier had to describe the past two years, he’d use two words to describe them: Lavender Days. “It describes the time period that I had just gone through being melancholy, and a lot of things being taken away from us,” he says over the phone from his home in Columbus, Ohio. “But also a lot being given, like, parents who got to work from home and spend those years with their children. Somehow it perfectly encompassed what the alt-folk ...
