It’s enjoyable in the clubs that you could be like, “Yeah, yeah. You talk your big cash.” I really love it. And I’m so happy that he gave me this verse. And I had a lot of conversations with Kanye West. ...

New Zealand has agreed to extend the term of copyright in sound recordings, a development the domestic music industry is celebrating as a “long overdue change” that should further protect authors, performers and producers. Currently, NZ recording artists and right holders enjoy copyright protection on their recordings for 50 years from the date of release. Those protections will be extended to 70 years, thanks to a NZ-EU Free Trade Agreement — announced this week — which brings New Zealand’s copyright regulations into line with those across the European Union as a trading partner. Recorded Music NZ CEO Jo Oliver welcomes the outcome as one that places domestic artists and rights holders “on a level playing field with their overseas counterparts.” Oliver continues, “copyright enables artist...

Norwegian rock trio Spielbergs were set to have a massive 2020. After their 2019 debut LP This is Not the End received some rave reviews, the band was scheduled to hit the road in Europe over the summer, complete with an appearance at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival. Of course, everyone’s 2020 plans were diverted and postponed, but luckily, Spielbergs maintained their spot on Mad Cool’s 2022 lineup, which features Metallica, Florence + The Machine, The Killers, Jack White, Glass Animals, Muse, Alt-J, The War On Drugs, Carly Rae Jepsen, CHVRCHES, Nathy Peluso, and many, many more. Even better is the fact that Spielbergs have new music in tow — and they’re some of the most powerful songs the trio has ever released. The anthemic “When They Come For Me,” which we recently named as an honorable ment...

Cardi B is back with the new song “Hot Shit,” which features an assist from Kanye West and Lil Durk. Listen to the single below. She described “Hot Shit” as “masculine” and “great for the clubs,” but due to behind the scenes issues it’s being released without a music video attached to it. Earlier this year, Cardi teamed up with Summer Walker and SZA for the Song of the Week “No Love,” and appeared alongside Kay Flock on the track “Shake It.” Apart from hip-hop, we recently learned that the rapper is a big My Chemical Romance fan, and outside of music, Cardi appeared as “Sharki B” in an episode of Baby Shar...
